The Department of Elections in San Francisco on Monday issued voter registration for illegal aliens to allow them to vote for members of the city's Board of Education in the Nov. 6 election.

Becoming California's first city to allow non-American citizens to vote in local elections, Supervisor Norman Yee said, "We want to give immigrants the right to vote."

[For the record, "immigrants" are people who come to America through the legal process, while "illegal aliens" sneak into the country.]

In order to vote, the illegal aliens must live in the city, be at least 18 years old and be the "parents, legal guardians or caregivers of children under the age of 19 who also reside in San Francisco," ABC-7 reported.
"As a parent myself and a former member of the SF Board of Education it is critical that the voices of all parents are at the table particularly those that have historically been denied a voice in the process," said Supervisor Sandra Lee Fewer who represents District 1.

School Board member Matt Haney was the co-author of the resolution endorsing the measure. He says the school board was in full support of it.

"I think it's critical that all of our families have a voice in the governance of our schools," said Haney.

Not everyone agrees. Harmeet Dhillon is the Republican National Committeewoman from California. She says she voted against the measure in 2016.

"The reason I voted against it is that I think the right to vote is something that goes along with citizenship and should be," said Dhillon.

Dhillon says the school board is already obligated to look out for the interests of all children in the system.

"I don't think that people who have otherwise tenuous ties to San Francisco given their lack of legal residence should be making long term decisions about that structure and process," said Dhillon.

They’re so disgraceful. Perfectly willing to sell out true Americans’ rights, the economy and the values that Americans used to pride themselves on.
Now they’re beholden to foreign interests and bringing America down to third world status. We need to continue defeating this wretched party in every election.

The future of a free America depends on it.

San Fran may, have a right to legally do this, IDK.
One thing I do know, when this insanity results in more poverty, we the taxpayer will foot it.
If this is illegal, the full weight of Washington needs to fall on them. If it is legal, change the damn law. We don't let felons vote, why let other criminals? Bet many have been deported before, making them guilty of a felony.

Most states do let felons vote at some time after (or in a couple cases before) their release. And when the U.S. became a country 10 of 13 states let aliens vote. The attacks on immigrants' rights to vote are not only attacks on their ability to compete for higher wages, thus driving up wages for all worker's, but also the prelude to broader attacks on the working class's right to vote. San Francisco's move is very reasonable.

No doubt, Blue states. You make the common error of calling illegals "immigrants".
Immigrants implies they have immigrated legally. These criminal illegals, have not. Many are once + deported FELONS.

So if you work for the Russian government, it's not okay for you to have anything to do with our elections, but if you wetback it here across the southern border, you should be able to vote in them?o_O
Do I have this right?

The attacks on immigrants' rights to vote
They're not immigrants. Their foreign nationals who entered and reside in the country without legal authority.
They have no right to vote in US elections. They have basic civil protections under the constitution, per the SCOTUS. No more than that.

The attacks on immigrants' rights to vote are not only attacks on their ability to compete for higher wages, thus driving up wages for all worker's,
Because voting in elections for local representatives impacts one's ability to compete for higher wages.
Because employers violating the law by hiring illegal aliens expect to pay them higher (under-the-table) wages as they gain experience and skill.
Because a larger labor pool compels employers to pay higher wages for labor.

Uh huh. Right.

but also the prelude to broader attacks on the working class's right to vote.
Yup. The slippery slope is obvious: First they keep foreign nationals from voting and, next thing you know, they revoke working people's voting rights.

Obvious.

San Francisco's move is very reasonable.
Yeah, it's very reasonable to have foreign nationals voting in US elections. All the great communist countries have always given full voting rights to all the many aliens who've rushed to their borders and been welcomed in without restriction. The millions of US nationals living in Mexico as undocumented immigrants can vote there so why not let Mexicans vote here, right?

Russia using news sites and Twitter in an (alleged) effort to influence how people might vote in a US presidential election is a usurpation of US sovereignty and an attack on our (non-existent) democracy, but Mexicans actually voting in the US is very reasonable.

Yeah, I get it. It all makes sense now.

Ehhhhh...... maybe Northern Cali, but SoCal is one good earthquake away from everyone dying of thirst since they don't have anywhere enough fresh water. Besides, all the cool scenery and good weed is supposed to be up north.
