Did the South switch from Democrat to Republican?

Where is your comparison of 1964 voter registrations to 2016? Prove me wrong.

Posted from lily white Colorado, where blacks make up 3.9% of the population. Funny how the leftists who screech the loudest about racism do often choose to live in states with so few blacks.

Where have I called another poster a racist?

Again...I'm addressing the very frequent attempt by right wingers to associate the democrats here with the KKK because in 1865 it was likely that the KKK was made up of a lot of democrats.

Now, over 100 years later, the fact is that the racist south is primarily republican.

Sorry you missed the point.
Apparently you didn't read my post as I didn't say you called anyone anything.

Right wingers shouldn't asscociate today's Democrat party with KKK and Left wingers shouldn't associate the Republican party with the KKK. Crazies on both fringes are still allowed to support whoever they want and vote for who they want...unfortunately.

When you wrote this in response to me I took it as a warning to me personally.

It will also get you temp banned from PJ if you call another user racist.

It wasn't meant to be personal at all. Sorry about that.

Right wingers attempt to associate the KKK with the democratic party because in 1865 it was probably largely democrats who made up the KKK.

Left wingers now associate the republican right with the KKK because the KKK is largely right wingers who show up at events like the "Unite the Right rally".

As I stated in the top post...right wingers here consistently try to make the case that since the KKK originated in the South and the South was dominated by democrats that the democratic party, 150 years later, is the same one from back then. That is a false assumption.
No, actually it is the same Democrat Party that instituted slavery; the Ku Klux Klan; segregation; separate but equal schools; poll taxes and other means of minority voter suppression.
Democrats have never obeyed the law. They never accepted the Emancipation Proclamation and didn't even to begin to recognize the right of Black people, to participate freely in American society, until the Civil Rights Act of 1965.
When they lost the 2016 election they immediately began an illegal campaign to overturn the results of that election.
They are basically just a gang of lawless white trash.

Are you calling me a racist? Seems like it.

I proved the racist south, home of the KKK in 1865 and majority democrat up until 1964, switched to majority republican after the 1964 civil rights act was passed.

The statistics show I'm right. The KKK was associated with Southern racists. Those people now vote republican.

Nah man, I truly do not believe you are a racist. But overall, it is kind of odd how so many people who rant about it live in very white areas.

By this time you have seriously strayed from the topic. I have proven the point I wanted to make.

I'm sorry. I could have saved us a lot of time. I agree the South went from DemocRAT to Republican. I am programmed to argue with you no matter what. :D

You didn't prove anything except that Leftists will lie and lie again to promulgate the notion that Conservatives are racists when it is your political party that has never stopped oppressing Black Americans.

Democrats would like to think that the racists in their party became Republican.

Racism is still blazingly evident in the Democrat Party now. You can't just pretend your bad people left. Robert KKK Byrd was a Democrat until the day he died.
David Duke, former KKK leader; and Jared Taylor, leader of American Renaissance, a racist organization, both support Donald Trump. Richard Spencer, head of the National Policy Institute, another racist organization, likes Trump too.
I believe they are all Republicans.

I don't think anyone has said that there aren't racists in the Republican Party, but thanks for trying to change the subject. It's still a fact that the Democrat Party was the party of racism and, still practices covert racism when it smears any black person that joins a party other than Democrat. Democrats have decided they own black people (and women and homosexuals). To me, that's racist.

Re-read my top post. Right winger posters here frequently bring up the history of the KKK as an attempt to say they are still part of the democratic party. As proven by the shift from democrat to republican, the racists who were home to the KKK are now republicans.

Not to mention the muslims in congress spewing hate and the Democrat parties bigotry and hate of Conservatives.

Looks like he has changed his mind and is now backing Democrats...oops. Eat your own logic.

Former KKK Leader David Duke Backs Democrat for 2020 Election

Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke wants a Democrat to be elected president in 2020. The only problem with that is that his favorite, Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, would like to keep an ocean or two of distance away from Duke.
