I actually joined in 2017, but I never posted until relatively recently. I wasn't lurking either, didn't read the board. I joined several sites at that time and didn't end up using this one. I decided to give it a try.

I was a Republican until about 1990 when HW convinced me that Republicans aren't really different in policy than Democrats. They are only different in words. I've generally voted for the Libertarian Party, but not always.

I finally recently came to the conclusion that libertarians are useless. I'm a libertarian to expand my freedom. It's not a religion, you don't benefit in the next life. It's just a better way to live this one. And I'm tired of arguing with libertarians why we shouldn't become more anarchist when the country is moving towards socialism. Libertarians are obsessed with staring at their navels.

Logically, I've decided for libertarians, the only hope we have is to join the Republican party and try to appeal to fiscal conservatives and oppose social conservatives and war hawks. In other words, influence the party to be more libertarian. And then we can further help that happen by voting in Republican primaries.

I have not yet put that epiphany to practice. I am having a hard time going back to the Republican party because they suck. But I don't have a better logical answer than the best way to advance libertarian ideals is to try to influence the Republican party since they have all the elements in the party.

Democrats are authoritarian leftists, there is no hope. They are as war like as the Republicans. Their supposed civil libertarianism is shallow and hollow. It means nothing, they just say that to get votes for socialism.

Anyway, my views.

Your views are similar to mine. Both parties are corrupt. The real two sides are Globalists vs Nationalists. But "Nationalist" equates to Nazi in the minds of some - and that's not what I mean when I say "Nationalist". There are Globalists in both major parties.

I don't love Trump's behavior much of the time, but he is not a Globalist so I stand in full support of him.

Our nation is moving toward Global Socialism (disguised Communism). Democrats are calling themselves Socialists, but Communism is their goal. Trump has given us a reprieve. It is temporary. Either in 2020 or 2024 we will get a Democrat president and our reprieve will be over with. At that point the march toward (let's just be honest here) Communism will be unstoppable. I don't see another possibility for reprieve.

And this is my expansion on what you've said.

You won't change anyone's mind, but I am here warning people ... and I think you are here for the same reason.

Well, we are smarter than Democrats. We will always do better than the masses. That is if we aren't left in a reprogramming camp. It's sad though we can't just go out and work and build the economy and take everyone else with us. We have to evade greedy Democrats looking to steal a quick buck.
