Universal background check = universal gun registration or it isn't enforceable

1. We know that crimes are committed by very few repeat offenders. Making it harder for them to get guns is always a good idea.
2. As the number of private sellers willing to take a chance selling a gun without a BC declines, criminals will have to spend more to get a gun.
I don't know where you're getting your data, but most serious criminals are multiple offenders.

2) How would you know if there is ANY decline in the number of people willing to do private transactions? Criminals will "spend more" -- laughable. They're criminals -- they'll steal.

No, but I don't know of anyone trying to do that. My point has been right along that Colorado isn't making it any harder for them to acquire them.
Ask @freyasman about doing away with all background checks. Anyone fighting against GunShow loopholes, mail order gun sales or any kind of controls on private sales is doing exactly that.

A survey done in federal prisons showed most gun crimes were committed with guns obtained from family or friends...meaning straw buyers.
