Actually, I'm questioning the spirit of the rule.

Once upon a time we all lived in the wild west and whoever had the fastest draw was the winner. We came to Political Jack and tried to build a forum that was civilized, but then struggled with the concept of civility.

I'm a preacher, I've struggled with the spirit of the rule far beyond what is practical for daily posting. And yet, I have a hard time drawing the line between debate and insults... when you attack my argument, are you not - by extension - attacking me? Especially in an online forum where my whole presence is limited to my argument?

And if we can not attack the opposing argument, how can we debate?

But my experience has been that the mods are so overworked, they don't even notice that I attacked the post, not the poster. They see the word "stupid" and I get banned... end of story.

This is why I said I am questioning the spirit of the rule...
what are we trying to do here? eliminate debate?

Ridge Runner is on record in this thread saying he simply flat out quit coming here because, we are a bunch of crybabies. What he is saying is simple: you can't debate in this forum anymore, it offends the posters, and now it is against the rules... so why come here?

The crazy part is... we all know that the crocodile tears are so fake anyway.

New/Updated Rules as a result of our Chat with the PJ users:
1) Calling someone a racist is an automatic 3 day temp ban and will be deleted.

2) Posting grotesque pictures or nudity is against the advertising terms so those are an automatic 3 day ban and have to be deleted.

3) On your first violation after today (10/10/2019) on new content you will be pm'd by me and we will discuss whether or not you want to continue to post here at PJ.

4) Posting any personal threats or personal information about another user is a permanent ban and a review to see if your account will be deleted.

5) If a user pm's me a picture of their alerts and its full of one person down rating a bunch of their posts then the ratings abuser will lose the ratings buttons.

6) Name calling is something people resort to when they have lost the debate. Name Calling is reportable and we will track who generates name call reports and decide on how long the worst abusers will be banned.

7) Users that make reports that are not violations or abuse the report feature will have it removed.

8) Thread derailment is no longer reportable. If you constantly derail threads or avoid a topic you will be thread banned with possible further punishment.


The moderators moderate all users the same, but they are like policemen in that with over 700 posts a day average you may do a violation and it goes unnoticed. You may do one violation in 100 days and it gets caught? If you do the crime you do the time. Don't go and cry to your base of friends that you got caught and someone else didn't and don't cry to them that you get treated differently. You don't know who gets banned and for what or how often. Its just like a speeding ticket. The guy that speeds once a year could get caught. The guy that speeds every day might not. Luck of the draw.

Accept the punishment and move on. It isn't a big deal.

What's going on is obvious. We are the victim of the political strategy of our political parties. And we are not alone. It is a macro strategy. This stupidity is playing out at every online political forum. It is in no way the fault of the mods, they are the victim the same as you and I. There is no solution; if we came up with a solution, the strategy would shift to address our solution; and the political parties are run by think tanks; people with doctorates in poly sci.

The strategy keeps crashing into our boards like waves attacking a beach. Gives new meaning to surfing the net. I just hope that our admin is able to adapt to the game as fast as they are tossing it at him. A lot of forums are being crashed by this strategy, they want to turn over the politics, keep people from thinking too much. Forums like these are a problem: too much thinking going on here. How much is too much? Any thinking at all is too much.

the composite reporting represents an attack on the forum. You are being overwhelmed... on purpose. The political parties want to crash your admin infrastructure; overload it until it can not handle the forum. The goal is simple: tear apart any logical sequence of posting. That's why they removed the thread-view from all posting software. That's why they shut down the fray. It is political strategy... in a brave new online world.
