and many will probably will laugh. I look around, see the news, and wonder why. When did we forget the words of John F Kennedy, or the charge he gave Americans in 1961.
And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.
My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.
For those too young to know, these words can be read here. https://www.ushistory.org/documents/ask-not.htm
When I was young, I grew up knowing the sacrifice made by those who came before me. My father, who was a Staff Sgt in the Army, unfit for combat due to WWII, he served as an instructor during Korea. My mothers brothers, all who wore the Army uniform during WWII, my one uncle whose back was so badly scarred he looked like the surface of the moon. One uncle received the Bronze Star in Korea. My two cousins were Marines, my older brothers were Army. I can't help but think every one of them must be rolling over in their graves at the sight of America today, because all they see is partisan politics; as if service to the country is nothing more than a football game. I think of the kids I went to school with, many of them who 'Gave All'.
Then I see a video of Sgt Christiana Bell singing a song, and those in the audience in uniform. Why? Nobody cares anymore, they'd rather take their liberties for granted. There's no working together, no working across the aisle; for too many of them just want to fatten their wallets. There's very few who choose to serve, let someone else do it.
America as a country will always be great, it's only land, it's the majority of the people who suck.
Ok, you can rant and cuss at me, I don't give a f--k.
