During a protest over the death of George Floyd, dozens of white protesters knelt before a group of African American protesters and asked for forgiveness from past sins of white people, which the leader described as “years and years of racism, of systematic racism.” In response, the protesters knelt with their white counterparts and joined them in prayer.
“A powerful show of unity and support,” the Twitter user who posted the video wrote. “The white community kneeling down in front of the black community to ask for forgiveness after years of racism.”
This is getting creepy. Will black people absolve your mortal sin that you never committed?
I'll never ask for forgiveness for the color of my skin. I'll note that slavery has existed for all races, and all races have experienced it. Blacks and whites have both been slaves and had slaves. No race is morally superior to another.
This anti-white message has to stop, and being black does not make one the arbiter of what is defined as racism, nor does it make one the priest who can hear your racial confession and absolve you of your sins.
