America's BEST American: Impartial and Bipartisan
I would be happy to do so.

In this particular instance these states were merely seeking to remove themselves from a union they joined after it was understood they could separate any time they felt the Union was over reaching it's agreed upon authorities. What you or I think about that, whether they were correct or not in their thinking matters not, they sought to remove themselves peacefully, leaving the federal government to be.

When it became apparent the federal government was unwilling to lets states out from under their control, when the federal government decided they need access to the monies of all the states that united, only then did it become necessary to have to fight for the right to leave.

And even then were the states able to leave the union they would have had no reason to overthrow the US federal government. That simply was not the intent of that war. As I suggested earlier, perhaps read up on the matter, from more than the one perspective you are already comfortable and content with, you may accidently learn something that has remained unknown to you all your life.

(I did say, "MAY")
tl;dr - When they disagreed with the country of their birth they decided to take up arms against it.

So close…………….. Yet still incorrect.

When they disagreed with the union of states where they were born and decided to separate from it as they were lead to believe they could they ended up having to take up arms against an over reaching federal government.

As was evidenced by it not allowing the individual states a right that was key in getting many of them to join rather than remain individual nations of their own. It really is not that complicated, I know you could grasp that concept if you were only willing to try to learn.

Just try. Pretty please.

Let's try again - they didn't like their own country so instead of renouncing their citizenship and moving somewhere else they took up arms against their own country.

Can Democrats now just like then gtfo. They are the rotten under belly of America. Always have been. Always will be.
There were Democratic Party members in the North. They were the only members of the Democratic Party in our United States of America at that time.

Now just nod your head and stop with the right wing propaganda on this one.

They were no longer part of the American political system. Which had a Democratic Party. So they were not Democrats. Again, I refuse to allow you cons to slither under that rock for cover and try to change the subject any longer.

That was very much the intent of that war, as demonstrated by the persistent efforts to force loyal states into the Confederacy. Every lawful state government was one that accepted the rule of law, meaning the Constitution as the highest law of the land.

Contrary to historical revisionism, the Union was not made by the states, but by “We the People of the United States.” The Constitution contained specific provisions implying no right to secede, and in fact the Supreme Court has ruled to that effect. At any rate, they attacked the U.S. not over the right to secede but over the anticipated ban on bringing slavery into U.S. territories.

It was an act of treason and their leaders should have been hanged.

Yes, your fellow Democrats did indeed get angry enough to start a war. Which they lost. To the Republicans.

Democrats were the conservatives of the day...republicans were the liberals. They switched sides. Why do you think we went from just 11 republicans in congress from the southern states in 1964 to over 100 today? The racists switched parties.
