General Motors is recalling almost 200,000 SUVs because corrosion in the driver’s door could cause a short circuit that poses a fire risk.
In a notice to consumers [see PDF link here] GM says affected owners should park vehicles outside until they can be repaired.

I get a kick out of it these days, when people choose to obsess over the various recalls. I remember back in the day, when the '71-'72 Vega came out. That was one of the worst cars ever made. If yours lasted 35k, you were extremely lucky. We get all bent out of shape about a wire in a door, that could corrode. I don't remember them ever recalling that whole godamned Vega!

That was some car,like GO's Prism,and the Volt.

Pinto? Remember that one? We bought our Son one for his 16TH birthday, with Firestone tires.

I still hear about that one,but he wanted an old Mustang that was falling apart. He soon had a Camero.He paid for that one ,then got married after College and bought a Volt for a second car.That did not last long either. Traded for a Ram Charger,so he could tow his boat.
