ACA signups surge in southern states

Signups for ObamaCare are surging in southern states, with increases of nearly 100 percent in some states compared to last year, federal health officials said Wednesday.

Texas, Louisiana, South Carolina and Mississippi have each seen 80 percent more signups compared to last year, Deputy Administrator Andy Slavitt said.

I have another theory...A whole lot of people, especially in redland, have never had health insurance in their lives. Their parents didn't have it, nor did their grandparents, nor does anyone they know. So, they simply didn't know what they were missing. This helps illuminate why all those redkook governors were able to get away with refusing expanded Medicaid on behalf of their poorer constituents.

But eventually, word gets around. The more they hear from other people about how great it is to have real health insurance, the more eager they are to jump on the train!

All's I can say is that if I was poor and living in one of those red states, I'd be PISSED that my governor said NO to healthcare being offered by the Feds, for next to no cost to the state! I'd be thinking, who the hell does that guy think he is?

except those are the people who aren't politically engaged. now Kentucky went all out to get people signed up. it went well because the governor was a Dem and Kentucky had accepted the Medicaid expansion. even so, they had to lie to the people and pretend they weren't getting ObamaCare by calling it Kynect. McConnell even outright lied when he campaigned on repealing ObamaCare insisting it wouldn't affect Kynect.
the only constituents calling for the ACA Medicaid expansion in red states......are the business, hospital people.
p.s. don't forget to watch Obama's ACA ad in the post above.

Obama's ACA ad is an ideal example of what causes the ODS-ers to hate on Obama the most. Name me a president in any of our lifetimes, who could pull this sort of thing off! I go back to Eisenhower and the only president (imho) who would come close, is GWB! But as we know.....GWB was most parsimonious with his self-deprecation. The GOP braintrust chose him in the first place, because he was such a simple rube. But after installing him in the Whitehouse, they did everything they could to make sure he was perceived as serious and worthy.

The tax and/or fine is a bigger number for some, than it is for others. What're 100% of those you know, doing to cover the cost of their healthcare?

Yeah...the roofer's gonna pay that $75k bill for emergency surgery, "out of his pocket". What REALLY happens is that thanks to Reagan and you ODS-ers, we taxpayers will be stuck with their bill.

Damned socialists!
