All of this DACA stuff is BS as far as I'm concerned

We either have laws or we don't. As long as we do they should be followed. This whole thing of feeling sorry for the DACA "kids" is just a tool. First of all, over half of them haven't been "kids" for some time. In our transient society these days our children tend to grow up and often follow careers in other locations which can be states or even other countries. It's almost unusual to find people still living where they grew up. Saying that we're breaking up families is ridiculous. People do that all by themselves these days.

OK, these people are illegal because of their parents. It's the parents who have to be dealt with. If the DACA youngsters are still underage then they should go with their parents back to whence they came. If they've reached adulthood then they need to show how they get their income. Are they using fake identification, lies or on some welfare roll? How about their ability to use our facilities such as schools and medical and whatever else?

Since they'd have been led to believe that breaking our laws will be accepted on different levels, we could give them an extra 6 months to get their affairs in order, then they need to go back and get in line behind the legitimate applicants for our citizenship.

We do have to take steps to polish up the steps that people need to take to become Americans. That does include learning our language and showing that they have a legitimate means of supporting themselves without us having to underwrite them. They need to declare allegiance to this country and it's values.

We would all welcome large numbers of these people into our fold. Letting them crawl through fences and whatever to be able to increase the voting numbers in a particular direction should be stopped now.

dem/libs working for illegals and terrorist
just as O taught them to do

To qualify for DACA you had to be a "kid" under 31. That's how stupid aunt barry is.

Even ICE has admitted half these dacans are frauds. How can you verify people using stolen IDs.?

The self-righteous outrage plainly evident in the first 3 posts does not negate the legitimate issue.
Some in the U.S. are at risk of being deported to a nation they don't know, where the native tongue is a language they do not speak.

///////////////////////////////\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

All that aside, the political reality is:
McConnell has a serious crisis fast approaching, will reach the full before this week is out.

McConnell needs 60 votes.
McConnell SHALL NOT HAVE 60 votes, unless he gets some significant cooperation from Democrats.

And Democrats want a clean DACA bill, as Feinstein proposed to Trump just a few days ago.

Whatever characterization you wish to post.
The reality is, it's very high stakes, high profile controversy.
And one side or the other is going to blink.

BUT !!

No matter what happens:
If there is no government shutdown, the People, the electorate will take it for granted; for keeping the government operating is rather a fundamental function, a bare minimum expectation of political leadership. That means Republicans don't you know.
And if there is a government shutdown, even if / when the Democrats force it due to DACA, the Republicans will receive the blame.

I see. So forget the rule of law. NO. The problem is the parents put these illegals I jeopardy by bringing them here illegally. They are to blame. No amount of your usual whining is going to change that.

The media may try to blame but the reality is funding the govt is separate. They are not related. Either they find the govt or they don't. It is time republicans found the balls to leave it closed until they get their way. Trump may just be willing to do that.

You should look up to see how a young person without papers who was brought to the USA as a child....signs up and becomes cleared for DACA.
Frankly, you should do some research on how an immigrant becomes a citizen because I'm afraid that your post shows you're ignorant of all that.

It needs to take more than an executive order to create citizens.

As I said, you have no idea of the screening those young people underwent via DACA. You ought to look it up.
As I said, you also have no idea of the screening immigrants go through to get in line for citizenship.

Trump and Repubs already have their way. If both the house and senate republicans agree on legislation, since they are in the majority, they can pass anything they want. They don't need Dem votes. So if there's a shutdown, it will be the doing of the Repubs.

Lie
if there is a shut down it will be due to dem/libs working for illegals instead of citizens.......I hope dem/libs shut it down, come Nov they will be deported with their beloved illegals........

I don't need my SS check..............how about you?

the key to good governance is prioritizing resources/spending.

I think a dollar spent on deporting MS13 gang members or illegal alien felons is far more sensible than making DACA the centerpiece of immigration debate.

They need 9 democrat votes in the senate. If the dems hold up funding the gov its on them. Funding the gov has nothing to do with daca or immigration.

And if it's either or, then shit the fvcker down and then don't pay back salaries and see how fast govt employees are willing to put their money where their mouths are.

"The media may try to blame but the reality is funding the govt is separate. They are not related." c #5
a) It's all legislation. So your position is, legislation is not related to legislation. Good luck making a persuasive argument for that!

b) Senator Feinstein specifically asked President Trump for a clean DACA bill.
"Clean" meaning legislation on that topic, and no other.
So the Democrats are on record as wanting that.

c) Not only is it quite common to team more than one issue to a single bill.
We also have legislative monstrosities we refer to as "omnibus legislation" which are essentially catch-all / grab-bags; an overpopulated homeless shelter for legislative orphans.
"Either they find the govt or they don't. It is time republicans found the balls to leave it closed until they get their way. Trump may just be willing to do that." c #5
- right -

They already tried that!
And the Republicans took the blame, whether deservedly or not!
The following are a few comments Senator McConnell about such shut-downs:
On the topic of an additional government shut-down, Senator McConnell (R-KY) said:
"... one of my favorite old Kentucky sayings is there's no education in the second kick of a mule." Sen Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY)

McConnell also said:

"Shutting down the government in my view is not conservative policy. I don't think a two week paid vacation for federal employees is conservative policy.
A number of us were saying back in July that this [government shutdown] strategy could not and would not work. And of course, it didn't. So there'll not be another government shutdown. You can count on that." Sen. McConnell (R-KY) CBS-TV Face The Nation 13/10/20
For you see c #5:
The Democrats are now using on the majority Republicans PRECISELY the same coercive legislative tactics the minority Republicans used on the Democrats when the roles were reversed.
The Republicans are merely receiving a taste of their own medicine. It's called "karma". Start liking it.

Amen. As usual, the leftists use deception and emotions to drive policy instead of FACTS.

Julie knew R's can't do it in Senate w/out D's, I think she threw out that for gullible dem/libs..........if dem/libs shut it down for illegals, retired/disabled/troops/welfare/food stampers/etc don't get their checks......DNC can kiss 2018 away and surely to hell Trump will not do as O and pay back salaries of gov employees......right, gov employees need some skin in the game $$$$$$$$$$$$........especially politicians (that say they can't live on $174,000)

It's hilarious that you used that bright, shiny object. Disney forced 250 American workers to train their foreign replacements. One would think a *journalism major* would be aware of such a rudimentary fact before exposing their funny ass to get so easily slapped down.

Trump is going to have to kiss the asses of 9 senate Dems then.
