A universal background check IS a tuneup. Why does it make sense to anyone that we will require a background check if you buy it at the store, but not if you find someone on the web advertising a gun and buy it without a BC?

Why do you insist on telling other states how to legislate? Aren't you a nosy little busy body?

We need to make it easier to buy a gun not harder. We also need to get out of the business of buying food and paying the rent of the freeloaders. WE can use part of the money we save by doing that to fund gun safety classes for any and all who want to take them

So now that Colorado has UBCs. What keeps people from Texas from driving into CO and selling guns?

In Colorado we are have universal background checks. Each year we are arresting a few hundred people with outstanding felony warrants as they attempt to buy a gun from a private seller.

You can NOT prove that those felony arrests are from the old Colorado law and not the new one. I have no idea that private sellers are ignoring the UBC. Do you have evidence? Nah.

I have already contacted by state rep about the fees charged by some FFLs for a private sale BBC. The gun shop nearest me charges $75. I had thought the law specified $15. The FFL is trying to discourage private sales...so that they can get the sale.

I also think there are numerous other ways to implement the check. I don't agree that it must go through an FFL.

So you are thinking that someone will buy guns in Mexico, taking the chance of being killed by Mexicans supposedly there to sell you guns....and getting caught at the border...to smuggle guns into the US so that they can then sell guns without a background check. funny how the libbers do not mention that the 2nd amendment is currently the only of our rights that a UBC is being required. How can it be required an be a RIGHT? Time for a trip to the SCOTUS
