Wall Street fatcats were gleeful over news that Trump was pressuring the Fed to lower interest rates - the very opposite of what is done when the economy is supposedly doing well. The fatcats don’t care much about the cruddy jobs numbers - they only care about whether Trump will stuff more money into their pockets.

We shall see. All we know is that the average jobs growth number over the last three months, when the “corrections” to the prior two months are applied, is 150,000. Considerably below the numbers Trump inherited from Obama.

A continuation of what was happening under Obama would be more reasonable to attribute to inertia from the Obama era, while a radical departure would be more reasonable to attribute to changes in policy, wouldn’t it? Realistically, though, the economy has boom and bust cycles, and the long boom that began under Obama, largely fueled by unsustainable borrowing, inflation, and war spending, was bound to collapse sooner or later. We’ll probably see a big and sustained market collapse before there are big layoffs though ... what we saw this quarter was just a hint of things to come and consistent with the boom continuing for a few more months or years.

As the job index remains the same from last month, wage growth continues to stay ahead of the 2018 rate.

Sorry, *edited*. It isn't a disaster. Trump is still a better president than the Kenyan Village Idiot, whose job numbers were always in the shitter.

Nope. Nothing is worse than Obama's depression numbers unemployment figures. He was the worst thing to hit this economy since FDR.
And Trump inherited the worst clusterfuck since Reagan inherited the Carter disaster.

Trump of course inherited the same depression conditions Obama inherited. But in his case they were masked by a years-long conjunctural upturn (slow dead cat bounce) while Obama came in as the economy took its initial plunge.

    Bull *edited*.

And I don't care how many sections of your ass you pull those fake numbers from, the fact is that Obama prolonged the downturn in the economy for a full year after he took the oath of office. (And that economy was knocked down by the Nancy Pelosi Congress. Had Obama done nothing, that economy would have been back to full speed on its own by the summer. But Obama succeeded in making this the worst recovery in history.

For eight years, President Obama presided over the worst economic recovery in modern times.

Obama pretty much did do nothing his first year in office, besides rubber-stamp the stimulus package put together when Bush was president. Are you saying the stimulus prolonged the downturn?
