Being bit of a photgraphy buff myself...

I'm one of the deplorables lefty warns you about.
Hadn't seen it before...however, with the amount of money I have invested in the camera I have now (lenses, filters, flash, etc.) my wife probably wouldn't be very appreciative were I to start investing in another right now. She's funny like that.

The Snake River viewpoint is easily accessible. Few however can duplicate his shot... precisely because he played a lot of games with it in the darkroom and set his initial exposure with the INTENTION of doing so
I studied Ansel quite a bit as a young photo student in HS and college. Indeed, he spent a lot of time in the darkroom.

But i suspect the biggest thing he had was patience (which i do not).

He was known to sit in one spot for HOURS until getting the exact lighting he was looking for.
