This election should be about policy. The true colors of the GOP are now out to be seen. They are the party that wants to continue policies that transfer wealth from the middle class to the upper 5% earners. They are the party that would rather wreck governance than admit that good governance exists. They would rather provide free healthcaer to Iraqis and Afghanis than to Americans.

The differences are stark enough between those ways of thinking that it should be easy to find a Republican candidate that supports the conservative agenda. But that is not what we need at this point.

Nope. What we need is someone who knows how to be a President. The Republican candidates we have now doesn't have the foggiest clue of how to do that.
  • One Pretends that running a corporation where everyone is beholden to you and you can fire anyone who disagrees with you, is the same as dealing with a Senate, and House and Supreme Court that consider you to be no better than their equal whom you cannot fire....We've seen MBA POTUSes before, and they failed horrifically
  • Two Pretend that dinosaurs were ridden by humans and explicitly appeal to a 13%-15% segment of the populace, deeming the rest not worthy of their attention except by bludgeoning them as evil
  • One pretends to have magical insight into economics that has never worked anywhere else in the world it has been tried, and who fundamentally wants to turn back the clock to the era of Jim Crow, women with no independent rights from their husbands and no right over their reproductive organs
  • One pretends that even though when he had power he acted petulantly and impulsively causing tens of millions of dollars of harm and engaging in a partisan vendetta, that he somehow would be embraced today with loving arms - hat his bribes, and his advocacy for the Iraq War would just be overlooked
  • One pretends that even though he's not quite as bright as GWB, that by being folksier than GWB and also believing that The Flintsones is a documentary, he can be as unifying a leader as GWB was...
  • And one is running around NH claiming that Democratic voters and representatives are untrustworthy
And ALL of them are basically campaining on the platform of "I want this job so that I can do it badly because everything government does it does badly".

A President must be authoritative but not authoritiarian. Not one of the GOP candidates are that.. They can make a authoritarian statements about "towelheads" not being in their administration, or about how the rich are Job Creators, but they cannot support ANY of their statements with any FACT BASED VERIFIABLE claims Every speech comes across as simply throwing red meat to the base a base that is increasingly smaller since 75% of the 18-33yo voting segment despises them

At this point, we cannot afford to look at how liberal or conservative a candidate is. We're pushed into the corner of having to look for someone who isn't a lunatic when it comes to economics. A pragmatist That's what we need now. An authoritative President who can put aside partisanship, not look at his next election and just put the country first. We need smart and competent.

And that doesn't appear to exist anywhere in the GOP Panoply. Hell it doesn't even exist in Conservative Pundit ranks.. Hannity? Seriously? Carlson Tucker??? Mary Maitlan??
