WOW - 2 mill for a surgery.!!!! The better way for her and the taxpayers would be to give her pain meds but let her die
more like 6 surgeries...over 3 days. They couldn't stop the bleeding. Yes, it may have been better to make her comfortable and not do open heart surgery.

Hospitals have to make up the diffence somehow for all the indigent and illegals they have to treat. Might as well charge the people who pay.

Like the the way pharma does with their ads hawking their products that they tell you has the possibility of death?

Ain't capitalism great?

That is nothing new.
Progressive belief is that the most vulnerable among us: the old and the unborn are useless so it's okay to kill them off or leave them to die.

That is the way Communism works.

People vote in Socialism so that they can have what they perceive as an equal level of living with everyone else. Things like free education through college, free housing, an income for everyone whether or not they work become expected.

Then.........fewer and fewer people work because why work when you would get the stuff even if you didn't work. Enter Communism where every able-bodied person is forced to work.

And guess what! If you are unborn, aborting you is even easier because your birth means mom might be out of her job for at least a little while. And if you are old......too old to work......... you get put into a corner to die.
That you shudder at the thought of everyone having to pull their own weight speaks volumes about the system you defend, although your defense of it means that many lack the opportunity to have an education, to live in a house, or to eat. Cuba, a poor country, has a higher life expectancy than the U.S. Because their system fosters a genuine reverence for life.

Only a fool would believe a bankrupt govt that starts wars based on lies would pay for anyone’s retirement or healthcare after they stop working and paying taxes.
They still get away with it now ... sort of. But capitalism increasingly can’t provide guns and butter as it could in the days of the “American Dream.”

Not to mention the costs of executive profits, drug company profits, insurance company profits, food contractor profits, kickbacks to building trades bosses, advertising, anti-labor goons, bribing Senators, hush money for the ballooning number of victims of speed up/skeleton crew-related malpractice, and promoting tobacco, red meat, alcohol, sugar, guns, and war to guarantee steady business. Somehow most rich countries and some poor ones still manage to provide more doctors per person at low or no cost to the consumer and at less cost to the taxpayer.

Half of any individuals lifetime medical expenses - on average- will be incurred in the final 6 months life.
Which is why the individual mandate is necessary. If medical expenses were more evenly spread out over the course of life you could just outlaw medical bankruptcies, right now the best way for individuals to take responsibilities for their own medical bills is to purchase medical insurance for their entire life.

You sure know how to stretch to extreme conspiracy lengths. Hospitals bribing Senators? LOL!

Who's stopping you from moving to Venezuela or Cuba since you hate capitalism?
