CNN Settles Lawsuit Brought by Covington Catholic Student Nicholas Sandmann

What were they asking for? Let's assume a nominal 1% settlement. What is 1% of 275 million dollars?
What makes you think they got anything near that? I think more likely they got a truly nominal settlement (attorneys’ fees, silence, and maybe $50 to make them go away). That way both sides win ... CNN doesn’t have to pay expensive lawyers to fight a lavishly funded fishing expedition, and the white supremacists get to claim victory because after all they got a settlement.

What does the mob have to do with anything, in the context of slandering sandman and his settlement?
The mob’s actions explain why Phillips approached the mob, and the mob’s open mockery of Phillips put the photos and videos of Sandmann and the media coverage of the event in context.

Why would a big-time attorney, representing sandman, we're all the facts lineup in his favor settle?

It's very clear that you've lost this one because you keep slandering

Who said that Phillips wasn't free to gather? Once again you're deliberately conflating issues because you have no point to make. at issue is Phillips leaving his gathering and insinuating himself in front of sandman
“Leaving his gathering”? He (unlike the Covington kids) had a permit for the Lincoln Memorial. Which is where he remained the entire time. By your rules, his freedom to gather means he cannot be criticized no matter how he acts ... right?

I never said that. My position is very simply, don't make it up, which you are

Sure there are, look to Jimmy's posts. Good little church boy, punk-ass kid, etc
Those comments were posted after your unsupported allegation of racial and religious mockery.

“Good little church boy” is an attack on his hypocrisy ... it’s something someone who respects his religion and sees him failing to live up to its tenets would say.

Is “punk-ass kid” a racial insult or a religious one?

Which tenants would you be assessing? Please put it in the context of your slander of the supposed white supremacist

It's been a week almost- and when shown facts- it can't change the mind of some folks who have a predetermined desire- to be intentionally ignorant of such facts. All for politics.

The facts were NOT in his favor. In fact a similar lawsuit against the Washington Post was dismissed out of hand because the facts plainly did not support the plaintiffs’ claims.

the guy is actively in the repeatedly slandering sandman and the kids, and then has the gall to talk about needing to point out the slander

The facts are clear as day. why you persist in slandering the kids is beyond my comprehension

“Turn the other cheek.” If they thought Phillips was “getting in their face” the Christian thing to do would have been to meekly stand aside.

So it’s starting trouble for Phillips to act toward a Catholic Church the same way those Catholic kids acted during his religious ceremony?
Yep. Philips gathering was over and he was leaving. He had no business trying to start trouble with the kids who were there with their schools permission. He has no business trying to go into a Church to interrupt their ceremonies. No one interrupted his.

There is no obligation to stand aside in Christianity or otherwise. Why aren't you calling Phillips behaviors into question? why does he get a pass for insinuating himself in their area, and then spending his days slandering them across the media?

The kids have no obligation to retreat they're standing in a public place. Phillips had no business insinuating himself in their area
No, people are not obliged to be respectful. And we are not obliged to refrain from calling out rudeness as we see it.

Phillips had imperative business ... preventing violence.
