Because that would be actual evidence of a rising sea level. An estimated three-quarters of the historic city of Venice, Italy, is submerged this week following high tides and powerful storms that have killed at least 11 people in the region.

This is the 5th time Venice flooded this decade. It flooded 4 times last decade. Prior to that it had only flooded 3 times in a single decade twice since they began keeping records in the 870s.

The Apocalypse of John said all the stars would fall to the Earth. Which is not how falling works. I mean, you wouldn’t say the Earth falls to us, right? It does not, like every IPCC assessment, predict the rise in temperature at selected points in time to within hundreds of a degree of the actual rise in temperature in that span of time, a rise of .6 degrees total since the first IPCC assessment less than 40 years ago, while the biggest fluctuation in temperature prior was a maximum change of .4 degrees over about 350 years during the Little Ice Age, something for which, like the current warming, we know the causes with considerable confidence.
