For some reason Condoleezza Rice thought it was reasonable to deride the Clinton administration for being “obsessed with terrorism” when the outgoing staff tried to get the Bush folks to share their concern.
As for the recession, recessions are an inevitable fact of capitalist life, and certainly the 2001 recession was already inevitable when Bush took office. The fact remains that Bush inherited a frantically booming economy similar to the one Trump is now juggling.
