Let me sketch a mental picture for you. Downer "secures" a $25 million "donation" from the Australian taxpayers to CGI. The following year, CGI organizes a conference in Davos, and pays Downer (or someone of his choosing, like say, his gay lover) $300,000 to explain to the visiting dignitaries why it is so very important for governments to work together to eradicate AIDS in Africa. The following year, Downer, who is very influential with the University of Melbourne, arranges for Bill Clinton to receive a half mil to address the Regents about how important it is that governments support private "philanthropic" efforts to eradicate AIDS in Africa. Nothing, at this point, has been spent on actual, you know, efforts to eradicate AIDS in Africa. Is any of that illegal under current tax law?

I have news for you - if you guys are going to get Trump (or even any of his underlings) on "Russian collusion," the answers to those questions NEED TO CHANGE!!!

No, I don't know that for a certainty. We could have known that had Hillary allowed the FBI to examine her server. Instead she tasked Crowdstrike to do it. Amazingly, her protector in the classified documents issue, FBI Director Comey, also agreed with Hillary to accept the findings of Crowdstrike. Bingo...turns out.it was the Russians! Surprise, surprise!

In retrospect we could speculate Comey and Clinton were at that point colluding to invent one piece of evidence for possible Trump-Russian collusion.

By itself that wouldn't be sufficient since there was no link to Trump or his campaign. But Comey had another asset by the name of Carter Page who had at one time carried a wire to a meeting with Russians that led to convictions for several of them. Having been previously associated with the campaign for a short time Page became a link, but a weak one.

Next up Michael Flynn, who had met with some Russian at some time. When doesn't really matter. Russian does. In Flynn's case FBI agents showed up at his White House office for a meeting. Being Trump's National Security official, the General assumed it was a security briefing of some kind. He had no lawyer present though, and it turned out to be an official FBI interview. Despite the agent's conclusion Flynn had not lied to them, a fact Comey briefed in a meeting with several Congressional leaders. That seemingly important information was not made known to Flynn's lawyers. That notwithstanding, nine months later Robert Mueller corralled Flynn and succeeded in wringing out a guilty plea for lying to the FBI. (Mueller is in the hot seat with Judge Emmet Sullivan over that.....government or possibly prosecutorial misconduct.) At any rate Flynn was 2nd link to Trump and his campaign

Third we have Russian lawyer Donald Trump Jr. being set up for a meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya and Loretta Lynch lying about her part in that as I detailed in a post above.

Now back to.... the Russian government did have what passed for dirt on Clinton, namely the Wiki leaks emails.

No proof whatsoever! Maybe you have it?

The Russians deny it. Jullian Assange had them and denied they were obtained by a foreign power. Assange and his associate claim they came from an insider. The associate claims to have come to the U.S, pick them up from the insider.

Now's your chance to prove them wrong. Go for it.

Hello? WikiLeaks didn’t have Hillary emails. Her server has nothing to do with it. They had emails stolen from the DNC and Podesta. I realize that the Trump/Putin love affair causes you to deny that the Russians stole them, but that will be impossible to deny in due course. Denying it is already irrational.

Anyway, about your “set up to help Hillary” theory, how do you convince yourself that makes sense when all the Team Trump/Kremlin collusion remained concealed until after the election, at which time the Team Trump concealment efforts were overcome?

Meanwhile in the real world, Comey's intervention on Trump's behalf played a major role in getting him elected. If the FBI director was actively helping Trump, he wasn't simultaneously pulling the strings of the conspiracy that you must allege to deny Russia's part in the hacking.

Ah yes ....the DNC servers! Turns out Wasserman-Schultz, DNC Chair, bypassed the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation too, preferring what Crowdstrike might have to say. What an amazing coincidence? Avoid the FBI and go to an entity you're paying,,,and Comey was cool with that

So what we have here is a likely Brit intel asset telling Papadoupolis that "the Russians wanted to help Trump" which he then drunkenly spills weeks later to an Aussie with strong ties to the Clinton Foundation. That is a classic set-up with the patsy in the middle.

Where are the, you know, actual Russians in any of that???

As you know, Papadoupolis's attempts to solicit help from the Russians for Donald Trump's campaign was just one aspect of a multi-faceted collusion operation in the Trump campaign. Trump Jr. also arranged a meeting involving himself, Trump's campaign chair, and Trump's son-in-law, with a Russian agent, to solicit the provision of valuable information from the Kremlin.

As for Mifsud, he was friends with Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov:
