What did you get on the writing portion of your SAT...a three?

Look, I get it. You “don’t know how to register as a Democrat”. You don’t know how to punctuate, when to capitalize, or how to form proper sentences. Certainly, the quote function here is above your pay grade.

Perhaps we should just strap a crash helmet on your head and call it a day.

    :)

Legalization of drugs would eliminate the criminality associated with the trade, and people would be allowed to use what they choose to. People would be held responsible for deaths they cause, as they are with alcohol. There would be far fewer deaths in this country, all over a victimless crime.

He’s a blowhard, but a harmless one. I just find it funny that every post he makes is loaded with errors and yet he calls everyone else stupid.

    It takes all kinds. :)

We'd have to enable hospitals to deny care though, or else the druggies will overwhelm the ER's. Hell, they almost do now..... you want your Mom stuck in a waiting room while she's having a stroke, because all the ER beds are full of shit ting, puking, screaming druggies?

do you like posting silly ass crap that can be refuted so easily with facts? or do you just not know anything that resembles reality? Portugal has legalized all drugs. they treat drug addiction as a disease, not a crime. pretty much like we treat alcohol addiction here, which you do not seem to have too big a problem with. when you think logically, if you ever do, you can see that the difference in the negative affects of alcohol and heroin and cocaine and meth and other hard drugs on addicts is negligible, but our society accepts drinking and drunks without too much trouble. we even let liquor companies advertise on tv and radio and print media, knowing a certain percentage of the audience will die because of excessive drinking, either by themselves or by others driving a car under the influence. but, what is the alternative? prohibition? how well did that work?

but beyond that- let us look at the result of portugal's liberal drug laws, in effect since 2001, long enough to see the results more clearly-

Since it decriminalised all drugs in 2001, Portugal has seen dramatic drops in overdoses, HIV infection and drug-related crime.

n 2001, nearly two decades into Pereira’s accidental specialisation in addiction, Portugal became the first country to decriminalise the possession and consumption of all illicit substances. Rather than being arrested, those caught with a personal supply might be given a warning, a small fine, or told to appear before a local commission – a doctor, a lawyer and a social worker – about treatment, harm reduction, and the support services that were available to them.

The opioid crisis soon stabilised, and the ensuing years saw dramatic drops in problematic drug use, HIV and hepatitis infection rates, overdose deaths, drug-related crime and incarceration rates. HIV infection plummeted from an all-time high in 2000 of 104.2 new cases per million to 4.2 cases per million in 2015. The data behind these changes has been studied and cited as evidence by harm-reduction movements around the globe. It’s misleading, however, to credit these positive results entirely to a change in law.

Portugal’s remarkable recovery, and the fact that it has held steady through several changes in government – including conservative leaders who would have preferred to return to the US-style war on drugs – could not have happened without an enormous cultural shift, and a change in how the country viewed drugs, addiction – and itself. In many ways, the law was merely a reflection of transformations that were already happening in clinics, in pharmacies and around kitchen tables across the country. The official policy of decriminalisation made it far easier for a broad range of services (health, psychiatry, employment, housing etc) that had been struggling to pool their resources and expertise, to work together more effectively to serve their communities.

actually, if you had a clue about life, about reality, about how sick you are in a human being kind of way, you would know the reason most parts of any big town where poor blacks live almost exclusively is because of white flight in the first place, the fear of their property values going down, so they want to be first to flee if a black family just as well off and middle class as they are happens to move in...then the property values tank as more and more goofy paranoid racist white guys sell their houses in a panic, and then only poorer people move in, and that lowers property values more, and then poorer people move in, etc. it is the not the color of the skin that creates these bad neighborhoods, it is the fact the only people living in these areas are poor, and poor people tend to have more dysfunctional families, less education and less demand from parents for their kids to be educated, more crime and more tolerance of crime, more hopelessness, and all the other conditions that lead to even more crime and despair. it happens in white areas with similar economic conditions, you are just too damn sick and lacking in any human decency to see it. so deplorable.

when did you and trump and the sage of main street become progressive? you sure do not act like it. you act like scared little wimpy white guys afraid of competition. of being replaced. of not having the advantage of being a white male in our society like you have had all your life just because of your skin color, not because of any other reason.
