Here's why Trump is pushing an unverified drug for CVD-19

EatTheRich

President
Why would people not showing symptoms take the drug that is needed for those who have symptoms and are ill? Why the hate?

Why did Trump say he might take it to prevent infection?

No one is saying doctors shouldn’t consider using it after weighing the risks and benefits (ideally in a controlled clinical trial) and determining whether someone else might need it more. The objection is to taking unreliable medical gossip from the president as gospel.

Hate is no excuse for you.

Trump is offering hope and you and your ilk are crapping all over it.

Trump had to kickstart the stupid FDA to allow this usage.

Trump is offering hope, you and your ilk are crapping all over that hope with your TDS Fueled© hate.

There is no money in this drug, it is easily and cheaply made and many companies manufacture it besides Novartis. And Novartis is donating up to 130 million doses, in addition to tens-of-millions being donated by other makers.

You do know what donating means, don't you?

In response, Novartis has pledged a global donation of up to 130 million hydroxychloroquine tablets, pending regulatory approvals for COVID-19.
Mylan is ramping up production at its West Virginia Facility with enough supplies to make 50 million tablets. Teva is donating 16 million tablets to hospitals around the U.S. On Friday afternoon, Amneal pledged to make 20 million tablets by mid-April.

That’s enough to cover as much as 10% of the estimated 2-3 billion eventual cases. Assuming everyone just needs a single dose, that is.

LOL

Yeah, you are just as phony as phony can get. I hope that $oro$ is getting his money's worth from your silly attempts.

If Trump was aware of the possible benefits of this drug and did nothing to get the FDA in gear, and if it proves successful, people like you would do a 180º and trash him endlessly for that.

Sad to be you.

Yeah, maybe you want to update the news.

Take 2 Trump miracle cure pills so we can see if you're still alive in the morning.

LOL

The drug has been off-patent for decades.

And this:

Enough for a small percentage of the world to be guinea pigs. Then if it works the rest will have to cough up the bucks. If it doesn't what do they have to lose , other than the lives of some of the guinea pigs that is.

More crapping on the hope. The left is such a miserable bunch. And very closed-minded I might add.

They say:

a) shared decision-making is possible,

b) data can be collected for interim comparisons of patients who received hydroxychloroquine (or chloroquine) versus those who did not,

c) the illness is sufficiently severe to warrant investigational therapy, and

d) the drug is not in short supply,” the Thoracic Society said.

In other words they are saying use people who are very sick as guinea pigs in a study of the medication.

That is already happening according to Fauci.

They are not recommending it as an actual treatment for the illness.

The generic drug Trump keeps pushing as an unverified, possibly unsafe treatment for COVID-19 was made by Novartis, who paid Michael Cohen $1.2 million to get access to Trump.

No surprise, eh?
Are you praying to your god of the week that none of the treatments work, Julie?
That still won't help you beat Trump in November.

Pushing this drug is Trump's latest effort to save his fat ass.
The must be some money in it for him as that has been his only motivation for doing anything for all his life.

"So why has Trump become so fixated on this drug?

"The idea that hydroxychloroquinine could treat coronavirus started to take root in the U.S. in Silicon Valley in mid-March, as Wired documented at the time.

"On March 13, a blockchain investor named James Todaro tweeted, 'There is growing evidence of Chloroquine as a highly effective treatment for COVID-19,' and linked to a Google doc he and others wrote making the case.

"One of his coauthors, lawyer Gregory Rigano, went on Laura Ingraham's Fox News show to promote the idea on March 16. And the next day, Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted to his 33 million followers, "Maybe worth considering chloroquine for C19,' followed by 'Hydroxychloroquine probably better." The message was retweeted 13,700 times."

First came Novartis paying Michael Cohen $1.2 million to get access to Trump.
Then came the FoxNews pressure on Trump.
Then Trump figured he could get out of this mess he made if this drug were in fact the miracle pill.
Republicans, Trump family are all buying stock...or whatever is done to make money.

I agree.
