This is Cat Lo, about 15 clicks up the river from Vung Tao. Across the river was jungle, which meant 'Swimmer Watch' every night. Dropping percussion grenades in the water to ward off swimmers. Not far off was the bay of Saigon, where we watched a tanker catch fire after a swimmer planted a magnetic mine on it's side. Up the river was an Aussie fire base that got overrun many times over. One night we called and asked if they needed assistance, but they declined, they were used to it, and would run Charlie out the next day. One night a kid came walking down the dock clutching a grenade in his hand with the pin pulled. I just happened to have pin in my cap, and we were able to reinsert it.
