This is purely opinion...i just grabbed a close enough link..

I caught a snippet on the radio today....from what i gathered I was catching the tail end of a dialogue that basically can be summarized thusly:
How can a presidential candidate, or any candidate for an office for that matter, heal the divides in this country, when all we speak, see, hear, view in media, etc... drives an ever widening polarity.
We are fed, incessantly...hate. We are mired in distrust. Our children are taught from the poles of a position.
How?
Yeah the thing that has really elevated lately is the idea that it is virtuous to hate other Americans who disagree with you on policy.
But not just hate them in silence, no, you have to get in their face and spew hatred at them. If you don't, your only enabling their right to exist, or to feel welcome in the world. (So tolerant, I know).
And it doesn't even stop there. You don't just spew hatred at them, in any policy debate you avoid policy and equate them to moral evil.
You want to lessen gun homocides? We can't just disagree on how to do it, you're an NRA loving evil gun-owner with blood on your hands who doesn't care about school shootings.
See how that works?
When is baby in the womb protected by the law? We can't just disagree on when it becomes protected, You're a hateful mysoginest pig who desires the slavery of women!!
Are borders for a country safe and protective of its citizens? We can't just disagree on this, You're a just a xenophobe who hates third world people.
You wear the American flag and fly it? ( Here, let me throw all the buzzwords in here).. You're a slave-loving, racist, Bigoted, anti-woman, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobe!!
... Yeah.
As long as that is much of the discourse coming from many folks of an entirely ideology, including the mainstream media, hollywood, Big Tech, and Academia... all teaming up to to beat down another ideology.. it's not going to get any better soon. An entire half of American politics has sprinted maniacally radically in a direction, demanding actions that are often outside of the scope of its values and laws. Gigantic political shifts like this cause tension, uneasiness, and often worse.
However, if the 2016 election reminded me of anything, it's that as much power as the media has to shape how hopeless it is for anyone to stand up to the agenda they have pledged to fight for and protect, as long as elections are legitimate, the people can smell a phony, and that's what happened to the loser in 2016.
