The little women has been wanting to remodel our Kitchen and Master bath for a few years now. We dumped 8 grand on a new metal roof last summer, so we couldn't do it last year.

But we've been saving our pennies and we last week we signed a contact with L0we's for new custom quartz countertops, new under counter sinks, new plumbing fixtures and new built in oven, cooktop, and refrigerator, new bathroom vanity, countertop, sink and faucet. We got top of the line Kraft Made Hickory kitchen cabinets when we built the house 22 years ago so they are OK and will stay.

Lowe's gives a 10% discount to military veterans and they take it off before taxes, so I saved about grand. Not too bad considering that we've got 75 square feet of counter top in the kitchen alone and they'll do the complete job, tear out the old Formica countertops, sinks and plumbing fixtures and install the new stuff turnkey. Hell, you can't take it with you.

They're coming out this afternoon and taking the measurements. we've already got the built in oven and the fridge. The Li'l Woman is smilin'.

Quartz (manufactured) countertops are definitely the way to go. Some people dismiss them because they can cost more than real stone so they think, why not buy the "real thing"? The fact is though, that they cost more because they're better.

Good for you; now you can sit around and wait for them to be recalled.

I'm planning on buying a Toyota Tacoma next year. I like supporting non union workers who don't rob the taxpayers to enrich their pension funds.

No, you're supporting Japan, it's as simple as that. And you are increasing the National Debt by adding to the trade deficit. And I don't know how you figure the tax payers pay the union workers pensions.

And if they are recalled, they are recalled. You really think that Tacoma is immune to recalls? Good luck with that.

If you think Toyota is an American company you're a fool. Toyota is a Japanese company, and the profits go to Japan. Whether they cash in American dollars for Yen, or they buy Treasury Bonds, that is added to our National debt. So you're not supporting the workers, you're making their pay check shrink. I get that you don't get it, so I'm not surprised.

Toyota has American auto plants, pays American taxes on the profits earned at those plants, employs Americans to build those American made automobiles, who pay taxes on their earnings.

If I buy a Toyota, I pay the guy who actually built the car. If I buy a GM vehicle, I not only pay for the guy who built the car, I pay for his now retired father who used to build cars and his retired grandfather who used to build cars.

    I refuse to do that.

Wow, you don't know shit about taxes do you? You really expect me to accept that Toyota pays the same taxes an American company pays for products they manufacture and sell in this country?

So let me get this right. If you buy a Toyota, you go into the plant and you pay each and every employee who put a part on that vehicle? How stupid do you think I am? Those retirement plans, which those employees worked to get, go right back into the economy. They do not go into the Japanese economy and onto our national debt. You pay Toyoda, his family, and his government for that vehicle. You are sending American dollars to Japan, and don't kid yourself. Or more truthfully, don't try to kid me.

You guys harp about the National Debt, and how, as Willard would always say, China owns America, and yet you'll send American dollars to Japan.

And not all Toyota's are manufactured in this country, the storage yard at the ports were loaded with Toyotas. So don't play silly games with that crap.

You apparently don't know shit about anything.

Yep, they pay the exact same taxes that American Companies do, while your beloved GM has been giving a 10 year tax exemption. They also pay state and local taxes and
    support the local economy.

So would the dollars that car buyers saved if there were no pension plans. The difference being that people's own money would be spent, rather than having GM retirees spend it for them.

The best way to not have China or anyone else finance the debt is to not have any debt. If we did away with the welfare state, which is now costing in excess of a trillion a year, we wouldn't. Obama and the Democrats keep expanding it, subsidizing failures and poverty.

The one I am going to purchase is. But since not ALL Toyotas are manufactured in the US, I conclude from your statement that you believe we should kick every foreign company, BMW, Diamler, Volkswagen, Bosch manufacturing, Beretta, Nissan, etc. etc. Etc. out of the country because not ALL of their products are made in the US either.
    Very.

First up, the IRS taxes foreign corporations differently than American companies. If you insist I am wrong, point out the specific IRC which proves I am wrong, or perhaps you can show me in the instructions for Form 1120-F that I am wrong.

As far as paying local taxes, how often have they also been given tax abatements at the local level? And as far as supporting the local economy, that is the pay checks of the employees.

And you make a big deal out of a retirement plan GM or Ford or Chrysler give their employees like that is costing so much of the companies revenues. That is so much bull. I suggest you ask some white collar workers at one of these companies about that. White collar workers are non union, and they benefit from the company much more than blue collar.

Where do you get that welfare is over a trillion dollars a year? From the New American? Welfare, for 2014, is estimated to be just a little over $500 billion. Hell the actual welfare payments, back in 2010 when the economy was far worse, was less than $700 billion; and that figure includes Unemployment payments. But then you probably are unaware that senior assisted living, etc., is considered welfare too. Oh, and by the way, so is Military retirement payments.

I don't care how many foreign corporations come here, they can all come here, since so many American corporations outsource their jobs to other countries. What cracks me up is the fact Willard claimed china owns us, when in fact China's share of the National Debt is only about 8%; and the fact you guys harp about the debt, when so much of it is owed to the government or private investors anyway. The fact is China and Japan each have about $1 trillion of the National debt.

Just don't harp about the debt when you contribute to it yourself.

And while you desperately look for proof in the IRC, I suggest you do a little research on tax treaties between the U.S. government and foreign governments in support of those foreign corporations. Then come back and talk to me.

I'm tired of watching you make a fool out of yourself. International corporations employ hundreds of thousands, if not millions (including Americans )produce goods and services that we all want and need, contribute to the world economy (including ours) and in a free economy you can choose which you want to buy and which you don't. I, for one, want more foreign companies in America to produce goods and services here and employ Americans here. There are three ways to do it, and we should do both; make every state a right to work state, lower the highest in the world corporate tax rate of 35% to 10%, drill more oil, do more fracking, expand coal production and have the cheapest energy in the world.

That would compensate for increase labor costs. We would create literally a million high paying blue collar jobs.

Most of the debt is held by the United States Government, via it's printing presses laundering money in the form of bonds. And if YOU don't like the debt, vote for conservatives who want a balanced budget amendment. As long as we are creating debt we sell it to who ever will buy it.

But, I tell you what. Give me the money and I'll buy whatever you want me to buy; but as long as I'm spending my own money, I'll buy what I want to buy.

    Deal?

The reason Ford, GM, and Dodge continue to leave Toyota in the sales dust, is because this is at least one niche where the domestics are heads and shoulders above.

The Big 3 and Toyota have agreed to abide by a universal tow rating standard, rather than just pulling their ratings out of their marketing patoots the way they do now. Tundra owners are going to be pissed when they see their tow rating dropping by a third, over night!

You're talking about me making a fool out of myself, and yet you have no answer to the tax question I put to you. I even gave you the tax form instructions number so you could easily access it on the internet. That in and of itself proves you didn't know what you were talking about.

You're another koolaid drinker. Our last big claim that we would be energy independent, when they had the right to drill in Alaska did what for our energy supply? Not one damn thing. We are NEVER going to have cheap energy in this country, with the exception of the bottom line cost to the energy companies themselves. The price of gas will always be this high, because all they have to do is export oil to keep the price up. Even when they were exporting gas, because the demand wasn't there, they still kept the price up. So your argument is like a water bucket without a bottom.

And as for our 'debt' it is primarily you guys who bitch about it. So if you don't like the debt tell your congressman to stop the Fed from making and selling treasury bonds to their rich investor friends.

Your argument about 'Right to Work' is fictitious, right along with your claim of high paying blue collar jobs. Let's see, Rick Snyder claimed his $1.8 billion tax cut to business was going to create thousands of jobs, right along with 'Right to Work'. Surprise, surprise, surprise. Workers in Michigan are still waiting for those jobs to be created. As long as corporate America can keep the unemployment rate up the more control over what they will pay, just like it was many decades ago.

And just like a right wing loonie toons, you seem to think you can come down on me for what product I buy, but oh don't say anything about your decision of what you buy. I could care less what you buy, and it's no skin off your pointy nose what product I buy.

I'll say it one more time. You want corporate America to pay little to nothing in taxes, put the tax burden on working people, and yet you bitch about the debt. Well that's too bad. You contribute to the debt by buying foreign, so stop bitching about the debt.

Tsk. Ah gee, so sorry, but I spent my allotted amount for that capital improvement this year. $90,000+. I'm sure if you're so much better than me, you can surely afford your 30 grand. Perhaps 'Right to Work' will help you find that money.

Total bs because you're incapable of responding about something you claimed I know nothing about? Or any of the rest of your bull? Try dazzling me with your brilliance, rather than trying to baffle me with bullshyt.

    Illogical logic, me thinks.
