Is Romney's tax/tithe rate really 25%?

He is also supposed to tithe 10% to the Mormon Church after all? Does that include investment income? Is it tithed at a lower rate than regular income. Inquiring minds are curious...

Mr. Mark,

Probably higher. The good Governor said his effect rate is close to 15% because most of his income comes from long term investments and qualified dividends. You have to admire him for that, don't you agree. Given that he gets speaking honorarium, and likely has short term investments, that would bring up his tax rate.

As for tithing, it generally comes off your gross income, not after taxes. Since the good Governor, if anything, is an honorable, honest man, I can believe he tithes the full 10%. Again, you really have to respect someone who considers charity on equal standing with his family.
