Is this any way for a former President to act?

I think not. In the founders day this would more than likely be considered sedition.

During a Q and A session, Barack Obama went on an unhinged rant during which he compared Donald Trump to Hitler and implied that Americans should vote Democrat or millions of people would be killed.

The bizarre remarks were made during an Economic Club of Chicago event on Tuesday night but have been largely ignored by the mainstream media.

Obama addressed the “nativist mistrust and unease” that has swept the world and brought a populist backlash that helped Trump win the election, before going on to assert that the U.S. has survived tough times in the past and will do so again.

The danger is “grow(ing) complacent,” Obama said. “We have to tend to this garden of democracy or else things could fall apart quickly.”

That’s what happened in Germany in the 1930s, which despite the democracy of the Weimar Republic and centuries of high-level cultural and scientific achievements, Adolph Hitler rose to dominate, Obama noted. “Sixty million people died. . . .So, you’ve got to pay attention. And vote.”

It’s unclear whether Obama meant six million people since Adolf Hitler’s death toll reached nowhere near sixty million (although Communism, which Obama appears to not be too bothered by, claimed at least 100 million lives). He was probably referring to the death toll from the Second World War, which estimates put at between 50 to 80 million.

However, Obama’s implication that Trump represents a threat to democracy or even the lives of American citizens and that the situation in the country is akin to 1930s Nazi Germany is clearly demented.

Newsbusters highlights how despite the profoundly deranged nature of Obama’s comments, they received barely any mainstream press attention at all.

“No surprise either that Obama didn’t appear to get pushback for this comment from his personal friend and financial backer, who just happened to be his interviewer, Mellody Hobson,” writes Kristine Marsh. “Hobson is not just a financial contributor for CBS, but is a close friend and high profile donor to Obama’s two presidential campaigns.”

Obama did not compare Trump to Hitler. He talked about the consequences of a population that does not "tend the garden of democracy".

Do you disagree with the statement that people have to pay attention and vote? Probably. Republicans always favor fewer people voting.

sixty million people did die in WWII. Just what are you disagreeing with? If not for Hitler there would have been no war.

just as Obama was uncomfortable with his (self appointed) role as ushering in a post-racial, post partisan government . . . he's also clearly not up to the job of being an elder statesman. he views his job as party first, nation second. you wouldn't find bill Clinton, Bush, or Jimmy Carter pulling this sort of crap

It was democracy that got Trump elected. Did Obama forget that?

Ye, he did. He used some verbal sleight of hand, as is his way, but the result was him essentially comparing Trump to Hitler.

No...it was not essentially comparing Trump to Hitler. It was saying that not voting and not paying attention to the details of democracy resulted in Hitler gaining power.

Where were you when conservatives actually did say Obama was like Hitler? No sleight of hand at all...."Hitler, Like Obama".....is a comparison you cannot debate.

"Adolf Hitler, like Barack Obama, also ruled by dictate," said Rush Limbaugh in the summer of 2009, just a few months later. Conservative commentators saw swastikas in Obama's push to register new voters in 2008, and even in his campaign slogans. Conservative favorite Ben Carson says the government under Obama is "very much like Nazi Germany," because "[y]ou had the government using its tools to intimidate the population. We now live in a society where people are afraid to say what they actually believe." And that's not to mention all the times some billionaire has compared Obama to Hitler for such appalling things as proposing to close the carried-interest loophole.

I think the crazy sanctions on Germany after WW1 made WW2 inevitable. People even then predicted it.
Hitler certainly used the hatred of the treaty to gain support. He blamed the Jews, the Communists and the "liberal democracies" for the depression. It was all about finding someone to be the enemy. I once saw a documentary on political rhetoric and, of course, Hitler was front and center as a master of the tactic.

There was his usual speech, starting slowly, praising German society and devotion to country...gradually building as he cited the various factors he said brought the German "volk" to their knees. He repeatedly invoked the enemy as the target...but he never actually said who the enemy was. That is the trick. Convince the listener that his enemy is your enemy. People were interviewed out on the street by people from the Propaganda ministry...the translations were amazing...."What did you think of our leader's speech"....

"Oh yes, we must get after those Jews"...or "we must drive the communists from the country".....The people heard what they wanted to hear.

Our own country could have gone the same way with people like Father Coughlin or the business leaders who tried to get a military coup to overthrow FDR with a decorated Marine leading the coup...Smedley Butler, winner of the Congressional Medal Of Honor was the guy they wanted to lead.

No previous president was followed by anyone like Trump. Yours is an invalid comparison.

I don't even think it's party first, it's just Barack Obama first. He trashed the Democrat party, abandoned them, and left them financially ruined in favor of his private Marxist group Organizing for America. The result was to make the Democrat party the least powerful it's been in the past 100 years, which is of course a good thing for America. Unfortunately for the Democrats, most of them are far too stupid to realize the job Obama did on them.

Unlike Trump who is doing such a great job for the RNC...right? He's backing an accused pedophile for office. Gee, that is just perfect. He's doing such a great job for the country that we are now on the wrong side of most of our allies.

Are you paying attention?

The poor punk.... you can take the BOY out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the BOY- no matter how many rich white people he hangs out with and no matter how hard he avoids being around other ghetto rats.

Thankfully, many wonderful blacks do escape that mentality and lead happy, productive lives.

Do you have any hope of staying on the topic? Your Trump Derangement Syndrome is shameful. Get help.
