Jobless Rate Falls

Explain how your claim that unemployment rose results in the percentage going down to 8.4%. Has someone changed the way it's measured or is the number just inconvenient to those firmly and righteously committed to the economic geniuses y'all refer to as "ABO" while they all disagree and skewer each other for their records of failure, greed, dishonesty and debauchery?

Then we'll get to the issue of who gets to define what's "green" to compile tenuous lists for argumentative purposes.

I dare you to find me any credible account (in the business press - not the left wing blog-o-sphere) prior to the bailout that seriously discussed the likelihood that GM would cease to exist if the government didn't get involved.
The proof is that the GM board and CEO went to the federal government and testified that without the loan from them the company would cease to exist.....not what articles you can find that support one view or another.

GM should have been allowed to fail, and the UAW should have been allowed to fail too. That company had incompetent crooks in management and Union hoodlums providing exorbitant labor. It should have gone under.

And the banks and brokerages, too? That is clearly the republican view of things. Did you know what the difference is in labor costs between Toyota cars manufactured in the US and GM cars made here? About $300. The biggest problem is the healthcare benefits going to retirees, and that adds quite a bit....

So GM, a company that has paid trillions in taxes (both corporate and through their workers income taxes and sales taxes) should not have been helped with the $14 billion that George W. Bush sent their way or the $50 billion that Obama lent them? A million workers on the streets, with both GM and Chrysler gone dark and all of their suppliers closed.

What do you do for a living Jack?

"We see a mild recovery which actually might be strengthening, and it's broad," JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon told investors after reporting its latest quarterly profits Friday. "Hopefully, it will add to more jobs. We have seen jobs growing ... it's not enough but it could be self-sustaining."

And that flies in the face of the facts! They owned some of the most valuable brand names in the world. No one who isn't an Obama sycophant believes that BS story. They went to the government in an effort to keep their jobs (after they had screwed up the company royally). What would you expect them to say?

Flies in the face of what facts? Are you saying that the CEO, CFO, COO of GM and Chrysler lied to Congress? The brand names just don't matter if they have no money to stay in business. Bush lent GM $14 billion with no strings attached. They burned through that cash in a few months. I'd guess that the CEO knew that he was going to lose his job no matter what. If he risked a charge of lying to congress to keep his job, I guess he wasn't a very smart guy? Face it....you have no facts. You have your opinion and the basis for that is to find someway to criticize the democrats and Obama in particular......
