The historical development on a country by country basis is absent but also important if you are ruled by law and not a man. This wikipedia is just a starting point albeit greatly flawed.

"Subject to the jurisdiction of," is plain meaning in a historical context. Not to mention that American Indians and Puerto Ricans had to be naturalized by congressional act post 14th Amendment and post Wang. Explain that away in court.

The only court King Trump and his faithful concern themselves with is the one the court he holds in Mar a lago, the seat of his throne.

You know I've been talking about this for a long time. You, @EatTheRich , @Arkady , and s'mores of ya said no way. Never happen. And yet here we are.

You've got to ask yourself if I'm actually Trump incognito.

“Anchor babies of illegal parents” will be all people of color if the 14th Amendment is “reinterpreted” to confer citizenship based on parents’ ancestry and not place of birth.

I notice from the map you posted that Mexico is a jus soli jurisdiction. So children of Mexican citizens born in the U.S. do NOT owe allegiance to Mexico.

Actually, that is not true. Can you imagine that Mexicans would tell their returning illegal parents that their children weren't Mexican? Doesn't happen. Read up on it.

“Anchor babies” are born on American soil. Perhaps you were confused because the propaganda treats them as foreigners.

The 14th amendment wasn't even created for the American Indian it took the Indian citizen act of 1924 for them to have the rights of American citizens and they were born on American soil.

When the 14A speaks of "jurisdiction" it means political jurisdiction not legal jurisdiction. The open borders crowd says it means legal jurisdiction but that is preposterous. Of course everyone in our borders is subject to the legal jurisdiction of america and it's states. To suggest that illegal invaders are free to commit murder is absurd.

When an illegal mother gives birth in america, the kid inherits her nationality and is subject to the political jurisdiction of that country, not america's. Case closed.

The real question then is what do we do with the millions of kids erroneously given citizenship because they were born in america to an illegal alien mother.

The point of “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” was to exclude the families of foreign diplomats, who are in fact not subject to the legal jurisdiction of the U.S.
