Your usual excuse...I posted it already. Gaddafi shut down internet access using a software program call EAGLE. That was in early 2011.

The internet wasn't blocked by the time Gaddafi was killed in October.

A week of protests have placed unprecedented pressure on Gaddafi's regime, and he's responded with far more violence than any of the other embattled Mideast autocracies. Human Rights Watch has tallied at least 233 protester deaths from regime security forces so far; Al Jazeera is reporting that another 250 have been killed on Monday alone. Despite a media blackout, reports are emerging on Al Jazeera and elsewhere that fighter jets and helicopters are attacking demonstrators in Tripoli and Benghazi.
On Monday, two Libyan Air Force colonels defected to Malta, saying that they would not obey orders to bomb protesters. The Libyan government is denying any reports of the airstrikes. But an anonymous witness in Tripoli told the New York Times that the jets, helicopters and militamen below caused an "obscene amount of gunfire" in the Libyan capitol. "They were strafing these people. People were running in every direction."

You left out one fact which happen in 2011 as if you think it was forgotten
Between Qaddafi ordered his military to open fire on the demonstrators. and The UN voted to authorize air strikes on March 17th... you left out obama using U.S. air power to support the rebels under the war powers act until NATO took over. there is your fact you ignored

You're lying if you say obama didn't start the hostilities with Libya.
The war started in early February when the Libyan military opened fire on demonstrators.
Now you are saying Qaddafi did order his troops to open fire (starting the war) and then you state (falsely) that Obama started airstrikes before the UN voted on March 17th...
So you have already admitted you were wrong in Post #104..Obama didn't start the hostilities...but you are saying he began bombing Libyan forces before the UN vote.
What is your source of information?

There is no proof that any one fired on demonstrators - and there was little to no army presence there - it was Police and demonstrators --------------- this is what I am saying, there was very very limited internet access in Libya then and no access to up load onto youtube.

When Gaddafi was murdered the CIA and co had their own connections BUT since none were coming from 'the people' we must presume that the internet was down - destroyed with the rest of Libya's infrastructure - The only stuff being shown was all pro US - nothing was being shown of the towns you were bombing - of course not! You had bombed their water supplies, electricity supplies - all power was down -roads - houses - everything - how the fu'ck can you, with a straight face, expect anyone to believe they had internet access ---------------- only an idiot would, even for one second, believe such a bloody nonsense -

There are a lot of sources that told of the violence in Libya before Nato got involved. Why did Gadaffi shut down the internet if not to hide what he was doing?

In defence - of his people and of his country. Don't all of us wish that we could protect children and others from the barrage of bs on line? From porn to politics - from religious nutters to 'guilt merchants' - look how it has corrupted our young - wouldn't anyone who cared try to protect those they loved from the mind bending and miserable on line onslaught if they could? Children have to grow up at 4 - women have to look so and so and so - men have to behave so and so and so - thought police everywhere on line so that the young do not have any grounding and dare not be themselves - etc etc etc -
Gaddafi took the poorest African country and turned it into the richest in just 40 years - a wealth which all of the people shared - there was 'no usury' - no bills, electricity was free - irrigation and running water with the Great Man Made River ( the first thing the US bombed in high summer!) - free education ( even abroad), free health care - decent housing as a Human Right - and so on - He was their Spiritual Leader - and he did it without blood shed - there was no bloody coup or revolution and most who were in jail were Al Qaeda and co ------------ He attacked no neighbours - he was trying to unite both Arab and African countries - which was his downfall ------------ Now Rothschilds own his Banks - the French own his water and stole his Gold - Oil is no longer used for the betterment of Libya but against the people who all live in mortal terror every second of their lives - who are sold into slavery and are ruled by Islamists - and they no longer enjoy education or healthcare - all you gave them was violence and more violence and even more violence - and an uncontrolled mass influx of people from Africa -

Gimme a break. He didn't shut down the internet for the sake of morality. He did it as a measure of control over his population.
Your entire argument falls apart when you realize the war started when people took to the streets in demonstrations against him. Yes there is chaos now because he ruled with an iron fist. It was just like Saddam or Assad.
Who do you think his army was fighting against? Another mercenary army that is paid $600,000,000 dollars a day to travel around and murder the populations of innocent states, destroy their culture and demolish their homes?
Your entire premise is laughable. Gadaffi's female personal guards were something out of a bad TV show. His corrupt practices enraged his own population. It wasn't Frenchmen who killed him, it was Libyans. What was it he was saying to the people who captured and beat him? "This is a sin for you" in Arabic...He died at the hands of a Libyan who had taken Gaddafi's own gun away from him.
So you think he "attacked no neighbors"? Do you mean the countries on his border? So attacking countries that were not adjacent to Libya was OK....got it.
You just sort of meander around looking for something else to throw out. I have no idea what the current state of their internet providers are. The video I saw of Gaddafi's death was on ABC news. They have their own access to their network, probably through sat phones when they are someplace without reliable phone service.

You have no idea, you say! So what was the US attack on Libya all about then? And now that IS rules over Libya was it worth it? Did Obama do the Libyans a good deed?
