Okay, let's talk about Papadopoulos and Page as well.

The reason Trump was not specifically told that Flynn was under investigation by those who knew it..like Obama, or Comey, or Loretta Lynch, or Sally Yates, or Rosenstien was they desperately needed a Russian connection more significant than Papadopolous or Page who were low level, short timers in the Trump campaign. Pasta with no sauce.
Add to that we now know the FBI had to set up Papadopolous with knowing something about the Clinton emails that they fed him and he repeated to Alexander Downer an Australian diplomat who happened to an FBI informant! See how it worked.
Page's consultations and meetings with Russians were perfectly legal, being his profession is energy consultant. That didn't matter of course. What mattered was he was connected with the Trump campaign and had spoken to some Russians. Roll the Presses!
So all the Obama Administration had at that point was a couple of unwitting nobody stooges they had setup. .
Contrast that with General Flynn, the National Security Advisor to the incoming President of the United States spoke to and met with the Russian Ambassador to the United States.
Now that's a headline! Bring in a Special Prosecutor!
Point being Bugs if they had actually told Mr. Trump Flynn was being investigated he would have shown the General the door. Despite that idiotic claim, the facts remain. The FBI was tipped off to the Kremlin’s election crimes, and they were tipped off due to the blabbing of Trump’s toadies. Supporting Trump’s claim that the investigation was wrongly begun is to share in Trump’s treasonous response.

At least until you can come up with some other reason Obama, Comey, Lynch and Yates, all of them, only warned the President-Elect about Flynn, but did not tell him that Flynn had been investigated and transcripts of his conversations with the Ambassador were in hand. I don't know...but that might be a punishable crime in itself in the transition of power.
But I do know it was trap that slammed shut 3 days after General Flynn took office and Andrew McCabe scheduled a meeting with two FBI agents and Flynn, one of which was Peter Strzok. And the bastard McCabe scheduled with a scheduler telling her or him no lawyers would be necessary!
Oh by the way, Judge Emmitt Sullivan has ordered that the transcripts of those conversations be turned over to the Court by May 31 Kind of odd don't you think since Flynn pled guilty 18 months earlier?
For some reason the Judge doesn't think the case has been knitted properly.
