Micky Mouse And Rob Rob Among 11,000 *Scientists* Who Signed Dire Climate Change Warning!

I agree. For example, some people refuse to accept that high CO2 levels are great for the planet. The Cretaceous period is an example of that. Other nincompoops refuse to acknowledge that Earth has had numerous swings in temperature in the past million years alone, with at least three hotter than the current warming trend.

Other science deniers do things like edit out the Medieval warming period so they can make a cool-looking graph.
Remind me how humans and human civilization fared during the Cretaceous Period. Or when the last time a temperature spike this rapid was, and what caused it.

They don’t “edit out” the medieval warm period. It just isn’t very impressive on a map since the warming was minimal and local.

FACT: Life flourished during the Cretaceous Period. There's nothing your pecking, copying and pasting can do to change that.

But let's have some fun at your expense anyway. One of your copy and pastes says CO2 levels haven't been this high in 3 million years? Guess what? That means CO2 levels went up AND down all on their own without human intervention. And guess what? 3 million years isn't even one percent of Earth's timeline. That would be like a 100 year-old person saying today was the hottest or coldest day in the past year. So what????

150 years is 1/200000 of that 3 million. So it would be more like a 100-year-old person saying “it has warmed more in the last half a second than it had all day ... that has never happened in my lifetime.”

It's 97% . You know the number Oblammo told you to believe.

That was debunked 5+ years ago.

Read some up to date news, ok ?

Here, this will help- even though we know you aren't bright or man enough to say:
'Oh that's where the 97% figure came from- well that's BS" !

The “97 percent” study was conducted in 2013 by Australian scientist John Cook — author of the 2011 book Climate Change Denial: Heads in the Sandand creator of the blog Skeptical Science (subtitle: “Getting skeptical about global warming skepticism.”).

In an analysis of 12,000 abstracts, he found “a 97% consensus among papers taking a position on the cause of global warming in the peer-reviewed literature that humans are responsible.” “Among papers taking a position” is a significant qualifier:

Only 34 percent of the papers Cook examined expressed any opinion about anthropogenic climate change at all. Since 33 percent appeared to endorse anthropogenic climate change, he divided 33 by 34 and — voilà — 97 percent!

https://www.forbes.com/sites/alexepstein/2015/01/06/97-of-climate-scientists-agree-is-100-wrong/#578ba5673f9f
There are half a dozen meta-analyses all showing by various methods 95-100% support for the mainstream position among scientists or in the scientific literature.

even if true, so what? were we around to suffer the consequences? didn't these changes take thousands of years to occur and to reside? were these changes affected by human activity and therefore could be negated by stopping that adverse human activity? the rate of change NOW is incredibly high, and it is geometrically increasing....that is why we need to be pro-active much sooner than later, and not worry about what percentage of experts who signed a list were not really experts, as if that made a damn bit of difference to reality.

Yes, these are precisely the questions to ask. How funny you unwittingly make my case.

1) Obviously, there were no humans during the Cretaceous Period. And obviously, there were similar species who flourished. Thus, a rational person can surmise humans would have done just fine.

2) There have been numerous temperature spikes. The cause? Who knows? The reality: Earth's climate changes constantly all by itself.

3) You're lying about the hockey stick graph. Ironically, the hockey stick graph is a lie.

Jim. The Black Friday sales on hockey helmets has started. You need a new one obviously.
do not blame others for your inability to read facts and understand information. seriously.

I am the one using these sources that you cannot understand and you believe I am the one that is wrong!! from NASA, who was good enough to list some of the experts who concur, whom I have been quoting.

you are wrong. deal with it...

Multiple studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals show that 97 percent or more of actively publishing climate scientists agree*: Climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities. In addition, most of the leading scientific organizations worldwide have issued public statements endorsing this position. The following is a partial list of these organizations, along with links to their published statements and a selection of related resources.

AMERICAN SCIENTIFIC SOCIETIES
Statement on Climate Change from 18 Scientific Associations
"Observations throughout the world make it clear that climate change is occurring, and rigorous scientific research demonstrates that the greenhouse gases emitted by human activities are the primary driver." (2009)2

  • American Association for the Advancement of Science
"Based on well-established evidence, about 97% of climate scientists have concluded that human-caused climate change is happening." (2014)3

  • American Chemical Society
"The Earth’s climate is changing in response to increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHGs) and particulate matter in the atmosphere, largely as the result of human activities." (2016-2019)4

  • American Geophysical Union
"Human‐induced climate change requires urgent action. Humanity is the major influence on the global climate change observed over the past 50 years. Rapid societal responses can significantly lessen negative outcomes." (Adopted 2003, revised and reaffirmed 2007, 2012, 2013)5

  • American Medical Association
"Our AMA ... supports the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s fourth assessment report and concurs with the scientific consensus that the Earth is undergoing adverse global climate change and that anthropogenic contributions are significant." (2013)6

  • American Meteorological Society
"It is clear from extensive scientific evidence that the dominant cause of the rapid change in climate of the past half century is human-induced increases in the amount of atmospheric greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide (CO2), chlorofluorocarbons, methane, and nitrous oxide." (2012)7

  • American Physical Society
"Earth's changing climate is a critical issue and poses the risk of significant environmental, social and economic disruptions around the globe. While natural sources of climate variability are significant, multiple lines of evidence indicate that human influences have had an increasingly dominant effect on global climate warming observed since the mid-twentieth century." (2015)8

  • The Geological Society of America
"The Geological Society of America (GSA) concurs with assessments by the National Academies of Science (2005), the National Research Council (2006), and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, 2007) that global climate has warmed and that human activities (mainly greenhouse‐gas emissions) account for most of the warming since the middle 1900s." (2006; revised 2010)9
SCIENCE ACADEMIES
International Academies: Joint Statement
"Climate change is real. There will always be uncertainty in understanding a system as complex as the world’s climate. However there is now strong evidence that significant global warming is occurring. The evidence comes from direct measurements of rising surface air temperatures and subsurface ocean temperatures and from phenomena such as increases in average global sea levels, retreating glaciers, and changes to many physical and biological systems. It is likely that most of the warming in recent decades can be attributed to human activities (IPCC 2001)." (2005, 11 international science academies)10

  • U.S. National Academy of Sciences
"Scientists have known for some time, from multiple lines of evidence, that humans are changing Earth’s climate, primarily through greenhouse gas emissions."11
U.S. GOVERNMENT AGENCIES

  • U.S. Global Change Research Program
"Earth’s climate is now changing faster than at any point in the history of modern civilization, primarily as a result of human activities." (2018, 13 U.S. government departments and agencies)12
INTERGOVERNMENTAL BODIES

  • Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
“Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, and since the 1950s, many of the observed changes are unprecedented over decades to millennia. The atmosphere and ocean have warmed, the amounts of snow and ice have diminished, and sea level has risen.”13

“Human influence on the climate system is clear, and recent anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases are the highest in history. Recent climate changes have had widespread impacts on human and natural systems.”14

YOU POSTED:

Holding a position does not constitute scientific proof.

Baby steps, Jim. If you live to be about 150, you could end up being a normal, thinking person who walks upright!

i truly have never seen anyone in such a stupid, first grade level of denial when so many facts are slapping him right across his huge gaping piehole. yep, all those scientists and experts saying the same thing don't mean squat compared to how you posted a story about a dozen or more names on a list of 11,000 were fake and goofy, which proves climate change is not a problem.

you are beyond hope...no wonder you are a trump voter!!

here is the title of this thread, you started, which both of us are on right now- try to get a clue!!

Micky Mouse And Rob Rob Among 11,000 *Scientists* Who Signed Dire Climate Change Warning!

and then you went on to make the link to this somehow proves climate change is not real-

Yep, liberals got suckered again. It's because they're DUMB.
So 11,000 *scientists* have issued a dire warning about climate change. Among the signatories:

Micky Mouse
Rob Rob
A pensioner in Nambia
gynecologists
mathematicians
psychologists
a "Sahar".... whatever that is
veterinarians

After nonsense like this, dozens of wrong predictions, multiple instances of lying, data manipulation and coercion, you leftists wonder why we normal Americans don't take you seriously?

Seriously?

Not really. The fact that we are witnessing climate change on a geological scale over the course of our own lifetimes is telling.
Really? So tell me about the oceans becoming deserts in our lifetime.

"Among".... read it. Understand it. Then read the rest of the list. Just for fun, I'll add another one: a college student in Brazil. Wow, impressive.

By the way, what's a "Sahar"?????

I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should drive.
you try to focus....lists signed by a million real experts do not prove climate change, or lists with a bunch of goofy names, either. the facts prove climate change. irrefutable scientific facts and data collected by NASA, by the military, by different universities studying climate, by experts in other countries, by the Weather Channel and their experts, all conclude climate change is real, is affected greatly by human activity and if not abated will cause incredible harm and risk to human and animal and all life on this planet within this century.
You do know "the data" is "adjusted," right? Adjusted data is not "fact." Climate change is definitely "real" - what isn't "real" is the notion that anyone has a handle on how much of it is human caused. The fact that a majority of people "believe" it is "mostly due to man" isn't evidence that it is. It is simply evidence of the power of suggestion thanks to decades of propaganda spewed by the climate alarmists.

Of course, you aren't the least bit interested in the "facts" surrounding this issue. Otherwise you'd admit the sorry record of failed predictions regarding the effects of "climate change."

You might also be willing to ask yourself, if the glaciers receding is primarily due to the CO2 emitted since the industrial revolution, why are so many of them revealing ancient forests as they melt:

The data are “adjusted” to remove known sources of bias. The net effect of adjustments is to reduce the apparent warming. Many of your “failed predictions” are about things that may or may not happen in the future ... revealing the intellectual honesty of the folks who compiled the list. The rest is an extremely cherry-picked list of a handful of things of marginal importance that the scientists got wrong, alongside their thousand times as many accurate forecasts. The issue is not that “many people believe” that humans are the cause. The issue is that those most intimately familiar with all the evidence have overwhelmingly come to the conclusion that humans are the cause.
