I'm a productive member of society. However, those who are unfortunately unable to get a job are wage slaves as well, they are just chained by the social wage. Unless by "welfare sponges" you mean the rich who live off the exploitation of the rest of us, without producing anything of value themselves.

Look... I can tell you from personal experience that socialism, as was the law of the land in Eastern Germany before the wall fell, does not, CANNOT, work.

All the WAGE SLAVES made pretty much the same amount of money. Therefore, no one worked. There was absolutely NO incentive to try harder. None.
