Well Trump & Co asked for it. Now they are getting what they asked for.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) admitted in public Thursday evening that his panel is conducting “formal impeachment proceedings” against President Trump.

He said the Judiciary Committee will decide likely by the end of the year whether to recommend bringing articles of impeachment to the House floor.

“This is formal impeachment proceedings,” Nadler told CNN’s Erin Burnett Thursday evening. “We are investigating all the evidence, gathering the evidence. And we will [at the] conclusion of this — hopefully by the end of the year — vote to vote articles of impeachment to the House floor. Or we won’t. That’s a decision that we’ll have to make. But that’s exactly the process we’re in right now.”

Nadler said it was important not to get lost in the “semantics” of the discussion and said while the probe would end with some type of vote on whether the recommend impeachment, right now the committee is interested in “investigating the evidence.” A big part of the committee’s investigation

“The fact is, we are doing an investigation. We are investigating the facts, investigating the evidence,” Nadler said. “We are going into court to get witnesses all with a view toward deciding and recommending to the House whether to impeach the President.”

By the time Barr and Horowitz are done investigating and holding guilty parties (ie Democrats) responsible for their partisan shady acts leading to the Mueller investigation, Nadler will be fleeing impeachment like his fat ass is on fire.
Sure, what’s another four to five months going to hurt? Popularity for impeachment ought to be about, what, 14-15% by then?

    Good luck!

Barr and the rest of the Trumpies need to testify.
It would be funny to see a sitting AG plead the 5th.

As for impeachment, public sentiment has only been rising.

    Zzzz.

If they don't produce anything, again, you'll say the same again. And again..

But hey. As thorough as necessary I say.

At this point Nadler is in a corner. If they have the hearings and don't file for impeachment, he's officially saying Trump didn't do anything wrong, thus proving Trump right...that this whole thing was a witch hunt. If Nadler does file for impeachment, the senate will never impeach, again giving Trump the high ground and guaranteeing a 2020 victory.

There really was no benefit to pulling this stunt for the democrats.

If that were the case they would not have had to sue. They are legally allowed to see Trump's tax returns. Yet they have to go to court.

Or in the face of overwhelming evidence the GOP'ers in the senate will sticking out their electoral necks in order to protect Trump. Will enough of them fall on their own swords to protect their biggest problem and the demagogue who is holding them hostage ?

They lost the suit, because they were not legally allowed to see what they were asking for.

Fall on their swords? There is no political upside for any republican to vote to remove Trump from office. There are also a lot of democrats from districts that Trump won that would be stupid to vote to remove as well.

Trump is not going anywhere, and the democrats, one way or the other, are going to look petty and foolish.

I don't know of any lawsuits pertaining to this information that the congress has lost.

Which are you talking about ?
