No visible US flags at Dem Convention

Mr. Friscus

Governor
My own theory is that American nationalism is more and more being seen as itself "White, intolerant, oppressive, and bigoted".

So many radical professors preach this in the liberal seminaries sponsored by the state. So many minorities flock to our economic refuge and then spew venom on our very right to exist.

I think the percentage of nationalism that the left deems allowable is VERY low, and if you start talking about, given the historical context of the world, how proud you are of America.. (all of it, not just Democrat socialism in modern, first world conditions), you'll be called the given labels.

I think the left's disdain for the founding principles of our country and documents will lead to the next Civil War, sadly. And I know exactly from which phrase it will come from.

This is, of course, nonsense. But it does beg the question. What is the proper amount of flags?

In an attempt to further illustrate their point, the Daily Caller presented an image contrasting of Kristen Gillibrand speaking at the DNC with Donald Trump speaking at the Republican National Convention (RNC):

Of course, this image was deliberately misleading, as the staging of both the RNC and the DNC employed large digital displays as backdrops for their speakers. For instance, the U.S. flags on view behind Donald Trump in the image above were digital renditions and not physical flags, as can be seen in the transition shot below:

Democrats see the US flag as offensive because it represents one nation under God (not allah), with liberty, and justice to even the lowest private citizen. (Not illegals who are non-citizens).

Or not...

My observation is certainly this isn't absolute. However, from my perceptions.. I notice, from Democrats,

1. A certain amount of hesitancy to wave the flag compared to Conservatives.
2. An unwillingness to only say something positive about America and nothing negative. (They have no problem doing so with their presidential nominees)
3. Speech of what America can become, and phrases that drift away from historical America.. a whimsical poem towards a Utopia, for some.

I, of course, don't take it seriously, but It's a funny coincidence...

The big, centralized statist who constantly elevates itself and denounces others as evil crushing the Jew... certainly a surface parallel. But, nothing to do with serious political commentary.

Of course, you'd say that. But, they aren't.
I do feel your pain. I remember 2008 and the debacle of McCain as the nominee and knowing he would lose to Obama. I couldn't stand McCain and never had anything good to say about him. All I did was post about the fraud called Hope/Change. Of course 8 years later it is great to see the GOP establishment being exposed as the fraud it is and having a true outsider like Trump take over.

My observations are:

Republicans and Conservatives act like only they have rights to the flag of The United States and use the flag as a political weapon.

Republicans and Conservatives actually seem to measure patriotism by the amount of flags displayed or by the size of the flag.

Republicans and Conservatives say only negative words about the United States of America and its citizens.

That's about as big a pile of crap as yours, no?

Pain at the ludicrous lies you present.

Dude...I was just watching as Holder was announced. There are flags on the stage.

Behind both GOP and DNC daises are massive video screens...Trump was standing in front of video flags.

I think it can be. I've seen it done, and I'll join in denouncing that act.

I think in some Conservative circles that's true.

Republicans and Conservatives say only negative words about the United States of America and its citizens.

Now here is where the "big pile of crap" comes in.

You seriously think GOP and Conservatives NEVER say anything positive about America?

Hell, let's help you out here. Do you think Liberals say MORE positive things?

Um.. have you listened to status quo Liberal rhetoric on the history of our country? If not, gosh, are you in for a doozy.

The short version: "WE INVADED THIS CONTINENT AND KILLED ALL THE PEACEFUL INDIANS AND BROUGHT A BUNCH OF BLACK SLAVES OVER AND BECOME A BUNCH OF RACISTS WHILE WHITE PEOPLE TOOK EVERYONE'S MONEY, AND ANYTHING POSITIVE HAPPENED BECAUSE OF US"

Seriously, that's pretty much it.

Meanwhile, talk to a Conservative, and they'll probably either glow or give solid props to the brilliance of the founders of this nation, and how we have such greater moral character than other nations, and how we can be proud of it.... or about our victories in wars against evil liberal communes and armies...

You have "insufficient privileges" to make this claim

Read Trump's acceptance speech. Read this thread.

Look...end the stupidity. I've told you multiple times before, I have seriously conservative, evangelical, family members. Two families worth. Both my BILs on one side. They are conservative. VERY. Women, my SILs, cannot cut their hair or bare their arms. They think you're a fraud because you're Catholic.

They have nothing positive to say about the nation...as it is today. They too call liberals, gays, hippies...and anyone trying to make the Preamble become truth, evil. Indeed...you just called liberals evil. Not much "glowing" there...

Let's just cut to the chase and say that Democrats have misplaced loyalties.

Yep...the flags are still on the stage...

Still...I have no answer to my question.

What is the proper number of flags required to satisfy the patriotism requirements of the right wing?
