Not ONE lefty ever steps in to contradict this oft-repeated lie...and it’s a particularly egregious one. This is a stark example of the lack of common ground that dooms us. It is why I stopped trying to reach out and find some civilizational fundament that we all share.

I often see posts by three guys here who constantly defame Jews. These guys appear to be right-of-center based on other comments. When that happens, there are typically 2-3 or more conservatives who call them out. Frankly, in my experience, there is just one Democrat here who occasionally counters the mob (and he happens to be your modding colleague and a good dude overall). If only there were more mainstream, normal Democrats of this sort...the sort my in-laws are as well.

The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that it would be more accurate to frame these series of Trump posts not as “Destroyer” but “Revealer”. Trump has forced what already was into the daylight where all [normal, well-adjusted, decent, non-hack] people can witness that our pols of both parties are walking filth. Our media can only aspire to the stretch goal of becoming sludge, and - frankly - the “activist” subset of our electorate is quite possibly even more dishonest and corrupt than the political parties they blindly...robotically...support.

There’s plenty that is bad in the reality of what I wrote above, the worst of it is that most people who pay attention to politics are now an amalgam of incurious, bought-and-paid-for, dishonest apologists.
