Your first link leads with NAACP President Derrick Johnson....
"Whether it’s malicious intent or benign neglect, Kemp’s actions during the election were textbook voter suppression and surely decreased voter confidence among residents in the state," he continued. "His actions were strategic, careless and aimed at silencing the voting power of communities of color in the state, and although his resignation comes at an interesting time, amidst a recount of the gubernatorial race, the NAACP will be closely watching how these events unfold."
That begs the question of what
actions specifically. Should Derrick lay them out, or is it that he's black, she's black, Kemp's white, and therefore the accusation is sufficient, rock solid, and not to disputed.
Substituting color for gender we've got the Blasely-Ford vs, Kavanaugh debacle all over again.
Then
The Hill's Brett Samuels throws in these nuggets.
Kemp, who as secretary of state oversaw Georgia's voter rolls, has faced numerous allegations of engaging in voter suppression tactics targeting minority groups. Kemp denied those allegations.
The numerous allegations are not so numerous. It's one, from Karmala Harris
"When a candidate for governor — who also happens to be responsible for overseeing Georgia’s elections — is trying to purge 53,000 mostly Black voters from the voting rolls, we have to call it what it is: voter suppression," Harris tweeted, along with an article from the Nation discussing alleged voter suppression. "We need to fight back even harder at the ballot box."
"is trying to" Did it happen or does it even matter that 53,000 voter registration applications did not meet state law. Apparently not to Karmala. Who needs the law anyway....
But this one tells the tale....
A last-minute legal challenge filed hours before the polls closed on Tuesday asked a court to block Kemp from presiding over the race.
Obviously there's not much presiding to be done hours before the polls close. Nope, this legal challenge was simply put forth to keep Kemp or anyone he chooses from snooping into post election tabulations, ballot authentication, movement of ballots from here to there, shredding maybe, stuffing maybe, and so forth.
