So they weren't digging dirt. Glad you admitted it.

They wanted to know why the investigation was shut down & Investigator fired. The one Biden Bragged about. NOW you get it.

Z: "we are ready to buy more Javelins from the United States for defense purposes."
T: "I would like you to do us a favor though"

Really? That is a direct quote. Clearly the sale of those missiles is dependent on that favor that Trump is asking for. Trump brings up the conspiracy theory that Crowdstrike is a Ukrainian company and that the DNC email server is in the Ukraine. Then he brings up Biden and says Joe Biden bragged about shutting down an investigation. That was a lie.

Added to that the suggestion that a visit to the White House could happen if Ukraine announces an investigation into Biden.

US ambassadors pushed Ukraine to investigate as condition for White House visit, texts show

They were absolutely looking for help in the election. The proof is that Trump didn't ask for the DOJ to investigate and didn't mention it before Biden looked like a contender in 2020. Polls show Trump losing. He's getting desperate.

    So Biden Lied ?

Clearly No one said "Unless you look into the investigation, you don't get the missiles"

    Was that said ? Nope.

You are just optimistically partisan. Sorry the facts don't bend in your favor that you have to rely on 2 biased news sources LOL

You are one of the more partisan posters here. Where did Biden lie?

You can continue to argue that unless Trump specifically states "No investigation, no missiles" but that is simply idiotic. The quid pro quo is obvious. Based on your logic how can you claim Biden wanted to stop an investigation? He never, ever said..."stop the investigation". Firing Shokin would not have stopped the investigation. In fact NABU
became responsible for continuing the investigation because Shokin's corruption had so tainted his office that they were not trusted by anyone...not the EU and not IMF.

So what's the holdup on impeachment? The account of the conversation has been released, as has the "whistle blower's" report (that was apparently written by DNC lawyers with the assistance of Shiff's people). The news media is pounding the propaganda that there's an appropriate reason for impeachment, yet only a bare plurality favor it. So Pelosi is being circumspect on the matter (with good reason). Trump's (strong) support among his base has gone up since this "inquiry" began. And I suspect he feels he can pick up independent support as he uses his bully pulpit to show how this entire "Ukraine-gate" matter is simply another manufactured charge (like "Russian collusion") by the democrats and their comrades within the deep state bureaucracy.

Of course Trump sought Ukrainian help with taking out Joe Biden as the frontrunner, just as Hillary did so with the Russians in 2016 against Trump. It is a distinction without a difference that Trump did so directly (and appropriately), as the top law enforcement officer of the USA, while Clinton was forced to do so through "private" contractors. They are two sides of the same dirty coin.

Trump is no dummy - Biden was definitely his most dangerous rival, as the (ostensible) "capitalist" leading dem candidate. Trump knew that by knee capping Biden, Warren (most likely) would end up the nominee. And her naked Marxism (not to mention her penchant for stupid inaccurate claims about her background) will almost assuredly render her unelectable to a great number of independents. He may be an odious boor (yes "boor" not "bore"), but he sure does know how to play to win.

Don't we have to, at this point, disclose that this "whistle blower" is a former Brennan acolyte who has a prior professional relationship with (by all indications) Joe Biden (not to mention coordinated assistance from Shiff's staff)? One certainly must consider that when deciding how much credibility to to afford these charges.

No, we don't. Just deal with the version of the call that Trump released as well as the text messages from Volker offering a visit to the White House if an investigation into Biden is announced.

Looks bad for Volker, eh? He got a sharp rebuke that Trump was adamant that there is no quid pro quo. Sounds like maybe he's a part of the deep state effort to undermine Trump. As for the version of the call that was released, it was one top cop asking another top cop (based on mutual assistance agreements between their governments) to take a look at an obvious appearance of impropriety. Personally, I have no problem with Trump asking for an investigation in this matter. As long as he wasn't seeking a made up claim that Biden, say, participated in making a pee tape with prostitutes in Kiev, asking for a look see is SOP.

    1. The Clinton campaign sought dirt on Trump through their law firm. The law firm engaged a company to do the job. They hired Steele. Did Hillary ever contact Steele, even indirectly? Not that I know of. Did Steele contact the Russian government for information? Again, not that I know of. Were some of his sources Russian government employees? Possibly. Were they offered anything in return for the information? Once more, not that I know of. That is far different than withholding desperately needed military aid in return for "knee capping" Biden. It is indeed progress that you admit that is what Trump had in mind.

    2. The "holdup" on impeachment is that there is a process. An investigation must take place, articles of impeachment must be drawn up and a vote in committee to accept them. Then the entire house must vote.

The fact is that you cannot refute Trump's own account of the call and can only hope that people will forget Volker's offer of a visit to the White House in return for an investigation...
Then there is the fact that Trump ordered $400 million appropriated by Congress and implied that an investigation would be a "favor" he'd appreciate.

A majority of the U.S. favors impeachment and removal of Trump. The legal warrant for impeachment is plentiful. But there are enough Senators willing to protect Trump’s lawlessness to further their own careers that impeachment now would result in senatorial nullification.

Why did you edit out the part where Trump specifically mentioned Crowdsrike and the DNC server, not Biden. Biden is nowhere in that part of the conversation.

    Oops!

If you have to "self identify" as anything, the chances are pretty good you are not what you say you are:

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/elizab...capitalism-businesses-are-bracing-11570643931

A "capitalist to the bone" doesn't vow to "remake" it "from the ground up." I have no doubt the DNC propaganda arm (otherwise known as the "news" media) will seek to, well, propagandize the issue, as you have done here. But Trump's going to have a half billion $ to spend to expose her as the (closet) Marxist she so assuredly is.
