If he will strongly advocate for a Palestinian state, and allow them to establish Jerusalem as their capital it could push the peace process along. I don't see him doing that, but here's a chance to do so. Not that the Israelis would make any concessions either, nor will the Palestinians.

But, then they got elected and had to carry out real policy with real effects. They chose to make the decision to keep the embassy in Tel Aviv because it was the smart thing to do.
