And the added money for unemployment compensation is only for people laid off after March 29. Anyone -- like a whole lot of school and college employees -- laid off because of COVID before that date are screwed.
i wrote our congressman and senators about it. Please, everyone, if you would, verify what i said for yourself and write your representatives. It's just not right and a lot of working people -- janitorial staff, maintenance workers, food service workers, etc. -- will suffer if the law (the COVID Aid, Relief, and Economic Stimulus, or CARES, Act) isn't changed.
