No. He elected Trump with his October surprise letter. But despite his partisanship for Trump, even he had to admit there was no basis for indicting Clinton. And Trump, despite his frothing-at-the-mouth "lock her up" rhetoric, tacitly had to admit it as well, which is why he let the matter go. As all the sane people already acknowledged, there was simply no evidence of law-breaking on her part.

Where she sets herself apart, though, is that no other losing candidate in living memory has done so much to acknowledge campaign mistakes on her own part, and even to go so far as to apologize for them. Seriously, did you see any apology in the concession speeches of Romney, McCain, Dole, or Bush? Did you see them beating themselves up again and again, in interviews and in books, for their gaffes and tactical errors? Clinton is the most self-critical major losing candidate in modern American political history, but that will never be enough for the right-wingers. They are driven by pure hatred, so as long as she's still drawing breath, they'll continue their insane attacks on her.

The fair criticism is that she may have set women back with her eagerness to apologize and to beat herself up over her mistakes. So, when Hillary Clinton -- Gallup's most admired woman nearly every year for a quarter century -- apologizes for a loss in a way that no man in that position ever has, and then beats the living shit out of herself in her post-mortem book, she's being a bad role model. She's reinforcing a habit among women that holds them back.

But right-wingers, being breathtakingly wrong about ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING don't criticize her for that, which would actually make sense, but rather invent an alternate reality where Clinton blames everyone but herself for her failures. They are so detached from reality, at this point, that they cannot be redeemed.
