The central thesis of the rioters is that cops are hunting them to kill them because cops are racists.

So what if society is racist? As long as people can boot strap themselves racism doesn't really matter. Matter of fact as people have boot strapped themselves prejudices against them subside and largely disappear.

The day a "race" riots for more education and loots textbooks is the first day you've got a claim to make.
The whole issue with racism is that it robs people of opportunities. Black people have fought hard for more than a century for the rights to education.

Being 8 times more likely to commit homicide probably means you are far more likely to be arrested. That is "equal" treatment.
What do (other) Black people committing homicide have to do with Black people getting arrested for selling loose cigarettes?

Sorry, did I say getting arrested? I meant murdered.

Almost as impressive an ambassador as shooting cops in the back and burning down Targets, dontcha think?
3% of homicide victims are killed by police, who are 0.3% of the population. Being 10 times more likely to commit homicide makes you more likely to get shot by a community defending itself, don’t you think?

Police are called and are brought in to stop/arrest violent criminal situations. Of course, there are going to be far more deadly encounters in these situations. The stupidity of your posting is astounding at times. No common sense at all.

FACT: Cops are 45 times more likely to killed on the job than blacks are to be killed by cops.

What “violent criminal situation” presented itself in the case of Floyd? Or Garner?

Being a cop is a choice, and making that choice means accepting responsibility for the consequences. Being a fisherman is more dangerous than being a cop, but no one is saying that fishermen should be able to get away with murder.

Does that stand up to scrutiny? Not really. We need a blunt truth teller on the national stage to set the record straight once and for all.
Neither of these deaths was an example of police at their finest. Both deserve strong prosecution.

That said, why can't we recognize the people police receive 911 calls about were career criminals with multiple arrests, and eere still on probation. These are EXACTLY the situations police encounter day long. Thefts, burglaries, shoplifting, and robberies by people who inhabit the revolving door justice system.

Nobody should have died. Prosections needed. But from a statistical standpoint, if you commit enough crimes your risk for a bad outcome keeps going up.

No, it is. Fire ' em all.
If there is proof that they have done something illegal, or have shown racist behavior then they deserve to be fired. I do not believe that all police officers are racists, and therefore "Fire'em all" isn't going to solve the problem. We need our dedicated officers, and I believe they are not all guilty, because of the actions of a few racist cops. Just look at what has been happening the past few days, can you imagine the looters and arsonists that would take over our Country without any protection for innocent people and their property. You may not like it, but we need our Police. We just need to work on weeding out the bad apples.

The community that employs them has completely lost faith in their ability to do their job. They all need to to fired, and start over from scratch.

That would be unfair to the officers who are dedicated and hard working. You don't fire an entire force of officers because of the actions of a few. Perhaps the first place they need to look is at the administration itself. The arrested officer had a long record of excessive force, so why was he not fired. That is on administration, not on his fellow officers. I do NOT believe that every officer on that force is a racist, and deserves firing. I am more than willing to see evidence of such, but throwing an entire force under the rapidly moving bus is not the answer to this issue.

If an individual protests the killing of George floyd, by stealing a TV, and setting fire to another person's business, then that individual's actual concern for Mister Floyd and his family, is suspect.

Of course. But more precisely it makes them the exact same kind of sociopath/psychopath that Mr. Chauvin is. The rioter and looter would put their knee on your neck just as easily given similar circumstances.

Couldn't agree more.
