The other peace prizes

The Stalin Peace Prize (1949-1956), Lenin Peace Prize (1956-1991), and International Peace Prize (1950-?)

The second Wikipedia article obviously has big problems: an incomplete and insufficiently documented list and the assertion as fact of an opinion on the merits of the prize. But I still linked to it because I just became aware of it when I went to get the other link and it appeared of interest.

At least 3 people have won both the Nobel Peace Prize and Lenin Peace Prize: Linus Pauling, Sean MacBride, and Nelson Mandela. Again, I only glanced at the International Peace Prize list but it appears to have many Lenin laureates on there and at least two Nobel laureates, Martin Luther King and Yasser Arafat.

Both lists have, like the Nobel list, some cringeworthy picks: Trofim Lysenko, Nicolae Ceausescu, Mengistu Haile Mariam, and the government of South Vietnam among International Peace Prize winners, and Indira Gandhi among Lenin Peace Prize winners.

Some who surely deserved it too.
