Trump is underwater by 12 points in Pennsylvania, 11 in Michigan, and nine in Arizona, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. And there’s virtually no indication that states that narrowly went for Clinton in 2016 are trending in Trump’s direction: His approval ratios are minus 18 in Colorado, minus 15 in Minnesota, minus 12 in Nevada, and minus 27 in New Hampshire.

All true. And Trump can play the ultimate wild card - welcoming illegal election interference from Russia (and/or other countries) as he did in 2016. Not to mention the GOP’s relentless suppression of likely Dem voter rights. And the stakes for Trump are enormous - he knows he faces prosecution if he is no longer president.

Trump’s illegal cabal can never be counted out. That said, the numbers right now make it very difficult for Trump to steal it again.

 

Try to pay attention - the issue is the state-by-State analysis of Trump’s approval numbers. Trump is polling horribly in sane states. His nationwide number is skewed by the high approval numbers he has among Red state deplorables.

 

Guess we will see how this all plays out in 2020.

 

Yup. That said, some hope is provided by those Republicans who reject Trump’s vileness. Sadly, there’s not enough of them (yet), and there’s none in Congress willing to speak out (now that Amash has left the GOP). Trump has zombified/solidified his army of deplorables, but the numbers tell us that they are largely confined to the diehard Red states.

True, but sane people are hip to Trump’s routine by now. Attendees of Trump’s hate rallies will drool over his chants and nicknames, but they adore their Dear Leader regardless, and I don’t think sane voters will be affected by them.
