Trump threatens on Twitter to start shooting Americans

Bugsy McGurk

President
The madman-in-chief first posted this threat on his “personal” Twitter page and then moved it to his White House page.

Issuing threats of violence is a direct violation of Twitter’s usage rules, and Trump knows that, so he intentionally violates the rule. Why? Because he wants to change the subject from the horrific virus catastrophe he has created, and to appeal to racists. A twofer...

So Twitter is now a publisher and NOT a neutral platform?

By the way, the Presidents tweet does not mean looters will be shot, it means Looting leads to shooting. Ya know as rampant lawlessness often does, it does not mean he will send in the military to start shooting.

Twitter gonna kick him off their platform if Trump is gonna make himself a legal liability.

Twitter can do what they want, they are a private company but if it is just a platform there is no liability.

If they are publisher they are liable and lose the protections of just being a billboard.

So which is it, are they neutral platform, a billboard so to speak or a publisher?

If Trump wants to turn them into a publisher, then Twitter will start to have to police Trump's tweets even more. Trump tweets are full of slander, defamation, in this case inciting violence. If Twitter's gonna face legal liability for that shit, then they will be forced to lay the hammer down on him so they don't get sued.

Your attempted “rewrite” of Trump’s tweet is noted, but sane, honest people just read words as they are written.

Twitter has a rule - no threats of violence. Trump agreed to those rules as a user. Twitter even cuts Trump slack as a public official - they allow him to get away with tweets that would be deleted and possibly result in discipline if posted by ordinary people. Yet Trump still whines like a little girl.

Sad!

Twitter has turned itself into a publisher. They ban conservatives all the time then declare themselves to be neutral.

The jig is up, Trump has called them on it and now they should lose that protection.

Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter need to decide what they are, do they still want the liability protection or are they, publishers...

Oh, ok. How do you read words then?

Twitter ignores the rules for people they agree with all the time. So perhaps as usual you don't understand the actual issue.

When individuals get crowbars and start prying open doors to loot, they're not protesting. They're not making a statement. They're stealing. When they burn down a building, they're committing arson. And they're destroying and undermining businesses and opportunities in their own communities. That robs jobs and opportunity from people in that area.

Pretty sure they used crowbars in the Boston Tea Party. Pretty sure the Boston Tea party fits all of those criteria actually.

Nope. Again, Twitter and other platforms allow public officials like Trump to get away with more than ordinary citizens. They don’t even delete his post threatening to shoot Americans. Any other user would be banned for that.

wouldnt that be curtailing his free speech?
By kicking out him out of Twitter's house?
The first amendment doesn't give anyone the right to a twitter account.
much like the lament over what trump is supposedly doing?

sticky wicket
Na, It's Twitter's house, they can kick out anyone they want. Trump is free to go out on his front lawn and make all bullshit claims he wants.
