Trump visits farmers convention; protesters chant “Lock him up!”

Jeez, what a shitshow, from start to finish.

Actually, even before it started. Trump tweeted that he was going to Tennessee to speak to the farmers. The convention was actually in New Orleans.

But the farmers are being slaughtered by Trump’s policies. First, it was the Trump tariff war. Trump even admits that the tariffs are hurting the farmers, so he tells them to just wait - it will be better someday. The shutdown is also hurting the farmers in numerous ways.

Then the topic turned to the farmers’ need for immigrants to help pick crops. So, the nut who shut down the government over his “wall” told the famers he would “make it easier” for farmers to get immigrant help because “you need these people.” Huh? WTF.

The "make it easier " line was the best of the speech. So why does he need a "wall" if he is going to make it easier for illegals to come here?

Imagine if we had a thoughtful president. One who listened to experts and thought about how to enforce border security and also meet farmers’ needs for help in the fields. Alas, instead we have a president who demands an idiotic, pointless expensive wall in the middle of nowhere.
