Go ask your mama!If American farmers do it so well why do they need government subsidies to protect them from foreign competition?

You and him are full of shit............if that were so we'd never set grain loss on combines low as possible...........you sound like the libs that think the food is raised in the back of grocery stores.Governments don't determine where prices need to be. Consumers do.
Agricultural Subsidies are terrible for the economy:
Agricultural economist Vincent Smith notes: "When farmers buy subsidized crop insurance coverage based on their farms' crop yields, they use fewer inputs that reduce the risk of crop losses. In plain language, farmers change their production practices — and on average produce less output — when they have crop insurance coverage."36 Thus, he says, "by subsidizing crop insurance, taxpayers are encouraging farmers to work less efficiently, produce fewer crops, and make smaller contributions to the overall productivity of the U.S. economy."37

I think it's the govts job to prepare to provide for the general welfare in a time of war.So you think consumers can't determine their own food security? That's awful paternalistic of you.
Your posting name is "ObamaCareForever" and you presume to lecture others about consumers (demand) setting prices on goods, commodities, and services? This is nearly as funny as the self-admitted board atheists who constantly define Christianity for us.Governments don't determine where prices need to be. Consumers do.

-Do you ever use pathos or logos as a means of persuasion? Classic.
We have been at war for the past 17 years. Food security would not have been an issue if farm subsidies weren't there.I think it's the govts job to prepare to provide for the general welfare in a time of war.
Crop Insurance induces moral hazard. They take risks they shouldn't because at the end of the day the government will bail them out if they f*ck up.You and him are full of shit............if that were so we'd never set grain loss on combines low as possible...........you sound like the libs that think the food is raised in the back of grocery stores.
Really we have an official declaration of war? Farm subsidies exist as a Result of the rationing done during the previous two world wars. I realize lefty is not a good long term thinker and lives on immediate gratification but perhaps you should consider that people who lived through that want to make sure it is not repeated. We have been at war for the past 17 years. Please quote anybody on the left that has stated that Trump is bad for standing up for US trade and labor.....please.Trump bad, real bad. Boo hiss.
Canada insulted.
Trudeau responds...''my job is to stand up for Canadian workers, Canadian interests.."
The world lambasts trump. Trudeau lauded.
Some seriously f up shit..
The fat ass TIC was deceitful in Canada pointing out Canada’s 270% tariffs on dairy products but omitting the fact that the US imposes a 350% tariff on tobacco products exported to them!Libs: happy as long as other nations bend us over and treat us like they’re the boss.
To hell with American people and workers, competition, and foreign citizens who have to pay top dollar for common staples.

Farm subsidies exists a result of lobbying by special interest groups. The government is preparing anyone for war. They aren't buying and storing foods. They did from 1929-1933 and it was unsuprisingly, a giant clusterf*ck. Right now they are just redistributing wealth to a favored political constituency.Farm subsidies exist as a Result of the rationing done during the previous two world wars. I see you agreePlease quote anybody on the left that has stated that Trump is bad for standing up for US trade and labor.....please.
He is picking winners and losers and he is being terribly dumb about it. He is choosing steel industry workers over consumers.I see you agree
Why all the complaints then?
He's prodding, hopefully spurring equitable outcomes..He is picking winners and losers and he is being terribly dumb about it. He is choosing steel industry workers over consumers.
The steel tariffs will cost jobs in the auto manufacturing industry. Why is an steel working job worth more than a Auto workers? He's prodding, hopefully spurring equitable outcomes..
Tobacco is a highly regulated carcinogen. Milk is a staple of the Western Hemisphere. The fat ass TIC was deceitful in Canada pointing out Canada’s 270% tariffs on dairy products but omitting the fact that the US imposes a 350% tariff on tobacco products exported to them!
An authorization of military force is not a declaration of war.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Authorization_for_Use_of_Military_Force_Against_Terrorists

Cant say. Should every type of job/industry/etc be negotiated/assessed for effect simultaneously? Has this been the case historically? The steel tariffs will cost jobs in the auto manufacturing industry. Why is an steel working job worth more than a Auto workers?
This isn't the 1950's any more. Consumers on both sides of the border are well aware of the consequences of tobacco use. There is no need for tobacco tariffs. Consumers are perfectly capable of making their own informed decisions.Tobacco is a highly regulated carcinogen. Milk is a staple of the Western Hemisphere.
There might be a more apt analogy?
It's called NAFTA. They updated and expanded it recently and called it the TPP.Cant say. Should every type of job/industry/etc be negotiated/assessed for effect simultaneously? Has this been the case historically?
