I just wanted to give one example of where his post was untrue. So I did.
If someone is painted in a good light by an article, they must be liberals.
If someone did something bad, they must be conservatives.
as ai said, you generalizers shud stick together
Jen there may well be a republican or two at that school, but it is a school full of union teachers, so yes i am assuming that most of them are Liberals esp since it's a poorer Black area.
Are you telling me that I would not find more conservative teachers at private schools and more liberals at govt backed union schools?
You are not the norm.
You and your daughters are lucky people to have diverse lifestyle with many friends and relatives that are of mixed history. But the people you are associating with most likely aren't members of the ghetto's poor drug using neighborhoods and gang members.
But please stop acting like republicans care enough to act to get rid of poverty. If cutting welfare and getting rid of food stamps and forcing people to fend for themselves is your biggest mainstay. Gov's cutting off money to poorer neighborhood schools and cutting back on Pell grants is not a path that low income people will flourish in. jmho We are not going to correct our needs by doing less, and spending less, at the same time giving more breaks to people like you and me who don't need them.
If election results in our county are any sort of barometer for the politics of the area, then this is a very conservative county. In fact, if memory serves, during last year's elections, the Republicans took just about everything that was up in Pa. Yet, in our county, that does include a city complete with city schools, our teachers got together and elected to forego their raises and extend their responsibilities for the sake of the students. Then they had to go back and sell it to their union, who according to 8s, is usually liberal, and who, according to teachers, wasn't happy with the plan. The union initially advised strongly against the concessions the teachers volunteered.
It's assinine to imply that liberal teachers gravitate toward public schools and conservative ones gravitate toward private ones. Real teachers gravitate to wherever they can find opportunity to work with kids.
Obviously, we're missing news items as we comb the web for tales of saintly liberal teachers. Twice in the last two weeks, there have been news stories of well to do and....gasp....in one case fundamentalist Christian schools putting on plays about the wonderful message of the OWS movement.
And I can't believe that you'll actually purport to know the political affiliations of complete strangers based on a good deed they offer.
Gigi, your post is similar to what Union members all over the Country have done in the last 30 years. They have given back time after time while management stripped the companies clean.
When the Government stepped in the old management went by the way side and now Workers are beginning to get a share of the profits. You can especially see this in the Auto Industry.
I watched it happen over these 30 years. Teachers should have the same thing. There is way too much bureaucracy in Schools and not enough Teachers. Those who do the actual work of teaching.
What is so galling to many is the fact the worm has now turned. You see it in the OWS and all around the Country. Misguided as they were, the Tea Party started the whole thing.
Is it possible that the 2 parties have lost the faith of the American people? You are talking about normal Americans banding together to stop the onslaught of the Plutocracy.
You are correct Jen, they could have been republican union members, teaching at a black school in the inner city, there is that 1% chance for you to grasp.
Missed this part, in an effort to save costs at the schools, a proposal came from the Republican legislature to turn sheep into lawnmowers, only Republicans would come up with such a goofy idea, who cleans up the sheep poop?
He does/ they do actually claim the ability to purport such things. And if you don't believe it, they will call you awful names.
Why do black districts rley on state aid for 70% of funding?? What killed the self-reliance movement of the Marcus Garveys and Julius Rosenwalds??
Pure and simple, dependency pays in votes, 70 years of the New Deal, Great Society, War on Poverty, etc, had made us as Marco Rubio correctly had stated, a nation fo welfare deadbeats.
Notice you didn't see jacksh*t about parents in said district volunteering, or, pooling resources to take up the slack with homeschooling.
I damned sure never let my kids be dependent on public schools for an education, I sent them their to be socialized and exposed to the doctrines of American Idol Nation, and properly educated and deprogramed them myself.
Bet you can't show any examples.
Read this thread starting with the top post for my examples.
So we see the right doing everything they can to bust the unions & reduce teachers pay & benefits.
Yet you see the brainwashed white conservative women here trying to claim these teachers aren't libs.
I gotta wonder, how do they live in such a world where everything is so contradictory.
I have never seen such hypocracy as I see here from the right wing women. Hell even the sourthern babtists aren't as big of hypocrites as the RW women of PJ. They really are a pathetic bunch.
You know if thier leaders old them that it turned out it was South Africa that was actually behind 9/11 I'm sure we would all see them jump on the band wagon o attack S.Africa. They really are pathetic Sheep.
I actually feel sorry for them, because they aren't allowed to think for themselves, hell even if they were allowed I bet they wouldn' do it.
So for all the RW women of PJ:
All Hail KingBlam !!!!
Can you document all the claims you have made here?
Can you give me examples of RW women of PJ being hypocrites like Southern Baptists?
Those children can just be taught by racoons.
Many places rely on significant federal funding to maintain the public school system because much less is taken in for things like property taxes in lower income areas, due to lower property values. For example, many of the teachers in my family teach in extremely rural areas where they receive little in the way of funding from taxes. Without federal funding they wouldn't have schools out there at all. And it used to be common in this country to be proud of the fact that we were dedicated to educating everyone, rich or poor.

The current republican party would do away with public education in a heartbeat, along with social security, unemployment insurance, Medicare and any other social programs.
