No, the point is that it was not funny. Not "not funny" because it was racist ... just, not funny, period.Oh? You thought it was funny then as well?

I thought it was funny. I guess being a slave to political correctness subverts your sense of humor. No, the point is that it was not funny. Not "not funny" because it was racist ... just, not funny, period.
Wait a minute.................... I agree with what you've said here..............but why then if there is one anecdotal piece of evidence that some Republican is prejudiced, Lefty concludes ALL Republicans are prejudice.........and gets by with that nonsense?Nice attempt to save face. But it's anecdotal evidence. One Latino being a bigot does not mean such prejudice is widespread.
GW Bush was compared to an ape too. A real one, not a human in a costume that made the ape look pretty. What a bunch of [Unwelcome language removed].
IT's no secret that black folks are compared to apes by racist idiots. So this whole...it has nothing to do with her being black thing.....that's busllshit. You want to take a stand against political correctness and so you compare a black woman to an ape, like so many proud racists have done for centuries? Coward. Too bad you couldn't just say what you wanted to say without couching it as a grand stand against something oppressive. IF IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE YOU WOULDN'T HAVE PUT IT IN RACE RELATIONS, WOULD YOU? BUT YA DID.
This place certainly has not changed. Same fools, different day. Nevermind and so long.
Oh, and spineless mods who came up with this board instead of just putting a stop to the constant anti-black posts that were occurring....I guess this is what you had in mind. Nice going.
With that attitude you're better off elsewhere.Really Jen? Was that comparison made on the Race Relations board, too? Nah....
It's a rhetorical question. This place is just the same as it was when I left and why I left. Don't bother answering. Just continue to have a good time. At least this kind of crap keeps you people off the streets. Bye.
The Republican Party has a decades-long history of racist policies supported by those at the top.Wait a minute.................... I agree with what you've said here..............but why then if there is one anecdotal piece of evidence that some Republican is prejudiced, Lefty concludes ALL Republicans are prejudice.........and gets by with that nonsense?
Oh.......
That's different.
It is the Democratic Party that has those racist policies and they've been projected onto Republicans. The Republican Party has a decades-long history of racist policies supported by those at the top.
Like I said....the other "comparisons" weren't made on a race relations board. And to that, you got nuthin', as usual. With that attitude you're better off elsewhere.
I wish you well.
Bye.
So if it's not on the race relations board, it isn't about race relations? Okay then.Like I said....the other "comparisons" weren't made on a race relations board. And to that, you got nuthin', as usual.
Actually, that's not a bad picture of MO. They left her double wide ass out of the picture, that helps a lot.http://www.latinorebels.com/2015/03/12/univision-fires-rodner-figueroa-for-planet-of-the-apes-comments-against-michelle-obama/
I mean do they want the truth or what?
And look... the more we exempt certain people from criticism, the weaker they become. We now have snowflakes demanding safe spaces where they can be protected from opposing viewpoints.Sure.
We can laugh at anything unless it's about dark-skinned people.
There shall be no jokes about dark-skinned people.
That's what's been decided by the.......The Deciders.
Similarity is in the eye of the beholder...Yeah, it's funnier when there's an actual resemblance and not just a Black person being compared to a fictional ape she looks nothing like.
People are compared to various types of animals all the time. How is the OP any worse than the picture below? What a bunch of [Unwelcome language removed].

Are you suggesting that the only reason Bush was compared to an ape was because he was white? Because, you know, white people are compared to apes by those prejudiced against them all the time?So if it's not on the race relations board, it isn't about race relations? Okay then.
And look... the more we exempt certain people from criticism, the weaker they become. We now have snowflakes demanding safe spaces where they can be protected from opposing viewpoints.
Specifically to blacks, they are demanding racial segregation. I have no doubt that a component of this desire is they are being weakened by constant protection from criticism.
I have news for all of them. It's a cruel world out there. Whether you're black, white, yellow, brown, purple: you may hear things you don't disagree with and you may even hear criticism and racism.
[Unwelcome language removed] get over it already.
I guess I'm weird.... when I think of people looking like lower primates, the first person I think of is Ron Perlman:Well, first, I'm all for "getting over it" when it's actually over. But when people I chat with on a fairly regular basis here come to this little corner of the board here to repeat the garbage over and over, thereby causing it to be anything but "over", you don't get over it. Clearly, the person who started this thread isn't "over it".
Comparing a black man or woman,,,or child, to an ape is a hallmark of bigoted, hateful behavior toward black folks. In other words, Thinker....it's been done many times. beginning hundreds of yearsa ago an clearly continuing now.
Enough times that it has become unrealistic and unreasonable to expect that it could be anything else but a hateful racist smear. For crying out loud, it's on the Race board here. You have to scroll all the way down past a lot of forums on this board to get to the "Race Relations" board. The effort was clearly made.
Comparing me or anyone else who is hurt or angered by this type of thing to a snowflake who needs a safe space is a strawman argument. We're not talking about safe spaces here and the shenanigans being pulled on college campuses. We're talking about a veyr specific bigoted hateful insult that has been around, again, too long for anyone to mistake it. Only those who wish to deny that they think this is still funny will try to spin it as just an innocent coincidence.
Just an FYI, I think the whole "safe space" thing is beyond ridiculous. If you have a complaint about people and you want to air it, it's extremely counter productive to exclude them from the session. Yet, here I am, holding THAT view and yet finding this type of "joke" to be cruel and offensive. You can't reconcile my point of view because it doesn't fit what you CHOOSE to believe.
Fiurther, it sure isn't just black kids who are crying about safe spaces on college campuses.
I don't know if you were here at the time or if you were aware if you were, so I'll tell you. This whole "Race Relations" board came about because a couple of posters were postiing one after the other anti-black posts. They combed the internet for every crime they could find committed by a black man or woman and posted it, along with commentary about blacks. It was not unsual to have ten or fifteen such posts in a row at the same time on the Politics forum, and the time stamps of such posts showed that they'd be up into the wee hours doing it, too. It started because I took offense at photoshop job that one of the posters created, involving an unsuspecting black woman that he called "Mammy". Because I complained about it, that poster and a friend decided to rain shit all over the board. The mods' solution wasn't to delete the offensive posts, but rather to create a place for them to let their hair down.
That's what this place is.. A SAFE SPACE for ignorant bigots to say what they just gotta say. So maybe before you go pointing fingers at snowflakes, you might want to take a good look around here.
I don't know why I am continuing to try, but I'll make this last effort.I guess I'm weird.... when I think of people looking like lower primates, the first person I think of is Ron Perlman:
I guess I don't have reason to see this through the lens of race like you do. I'm not saying you should or shouldn't, just observing a difference.
And yes, there is a great variety of snowflakes to be observed- for various reasons.
