French citizens were disarmed generations ago. Their government knows they can do whatever they want to these people and they'll get no real resistance.

The police shot a Fireman in the head a couple of days ago, he has since died - they are dropping tear gas from helicopters - and it isn't only happening in France.

I find it very interesting that when the "Arab Spring" (aka ISIS) had their uprising in the middle east, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and many other Democrats went on TV to publicly pledge support for them. But now you don't hear a peep from the left in support of the French people rising up against their totalitarian socialist oppressors. Why?

What is a flash ball projectile? Must be some kinda terrible.

A 51 year old fireman was hit in the eye with one and went into a coma. Is this the guy who died QT? They said he was literally fighting for his life.

A journalist got hit in the leg with a flash ball and it shattered his knee cap instantly.

Oh I am sorry, I re-looked and no it seams that he hasn't died - one report said he had but I think it's wrong.

I think that the Left are rather bemused by this turn of events - they don't know what to make of it. Here a group of Brexiteers took on the yellow vest mantle and behaved mmmm they were silly, their especial personal cause is righteous but their self appointed spokesman behaved 'recklessly' in the context of today's climate of intolerance to 'free speech' outside Parliament picking on one MP and calling her a Nazi and blocking entrances into Westminster Palace and threatening policemen. Then the Left put on the yellow vests and had a silly Demo about 'they knew not what'.

But in France it is both Left and Right and inbetween who are protesting against 'The Elite' who make the decisions which so devastatingly affect ordinary lives - they want them out and a new form of government. Bit like Iceland only instead of Pots and Pans they shed their blood. The ordinary people in Europe have had enough of this bureaucratic nightmare Empire for 'The Elite' - it is interesting to see how each culture protests in their own way, isn't it? And for me - that the politically passionate about their political diversity French, of all people, are now protesting alongside one another, at great physical risks, says it all really -

It has been going on for months and doesn't look as though it is going to stop - Paris is on lock down in many areas and France is more or less at a stand still --- Yes, it is being posted on social media -
